Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer or dealer to get it fixed free.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

It will need a magnetron and maybe a large capacitor soon

Lights on, turntable for plate turns but not heating food

Sounds like the magnetron is faulty, this generates the microwave energy which heats the food.
If the microwave oven is less than 12 months old then it may still be under warranty.
I suggest you return it to the shop where you purchased the microwave together with proof of purchase for a replacement or repair.

I have a GE sensor microwave oven. Tried to heat food and sensor eror came on. Everything is running even the timer but no sound but the timer is running. Cant this be reset pls help

HELLO.

This is the solution to reset your microwave.

1 Pressing the clock button will display the time. You can also use this to know what time it is while cooking.

1. Set the clock by pressing the "Clock" button.

2. Turning the dial on the GE sensor microwave oven will display the hour of the day. Once you have found the correct hour, press the dial in.

3. Again, turn the dial to set the minutes of the day. When this is completed, you will need to press the dial in again on the GE sensor microwave oven.

4. When the time and minutes are set, turn the dial again for a.m. or p.m. Then you will need to press the dial in to save the settings.

5. Press the "Start" button to allow the clock to begin on the GE sensor microwave oven.

Thanks.

My microwave intermittently fails to heat the food. Unit runs and lights up but does not heat up food. Microwave is 4 months old. Problem just started a few days ago. tried every combination of buttons,...

Hello there:
It sounds normal, but there's no heat When the microwave sounds okay, but there's no heat, one of the internal door switches, the high voltage circuitry, or the circuit board may have a problem. To resolve this problem, you need the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

Many over-the-range microwave ovens suffer from intermittent problems caused by excessive moisture from the range/stove entering the microwave cabinet and collecting on the circuitry. Often the problem is with one or two simple connections that may need tightening or soldering. But, to repair these components, the microwave cabinet needs to be opened. So we recommend that you seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

At least twice in the past month have had food explode all over the microwave (as if it was overheating). Items vented properly or not covered at all. this time, kept making poppong noises for at lesat 10...

If you have an item overheating, try looking at the directions on the unit for the watts and adjust cooking time according to the oven. Some foods will explode if left for too long in a quick heating microwave oven. If this is a new problem and the microwave is 4 years old, you may consider the unit is beyond its useful life. Its difficult to tell w/o knowing the brand, but it could be the meagtron tube is simply wearing/worn out. Let me know if this helps. m

Everything works except heat

Sounds like you've had a failure in the microwave portion of the unit.

Microwave not heating problems when the timer/controller board appears to function properly, are related to the following components -

1) Diode
2) Capacitor
3) Transformer
4) Magnetron

I always recommend that folks put food off-center on the turntable to assure more even heating.

It's a stirring action, so imagine how inefficient it would be to stir just by twirling a spoon in the center of your coffee!

Also, when you put your food off-center, you're not putting it in the same spot every time. That will help prevent repeated heating of the the same spot on the glass, which can lead to weakness and cracking.

The turntable generally replaces the stirrer, which actually scrambles and stirs the microwaves as they come out of the waveguide from the magnetron. But some models, notably GE's, have both.

So if you're placing the food properly and it's still burning, since it's under warranty, contact Sharp at 1-800-BE-SHARP (1-800-237-4277) to see about getting it checked.
