Won't Close Our door wont close. It'll start closing and then pop right back up. Our sensors are aligned and cleaned. We have been having issues with them earlier this week but thought we had that problm all figured out. Any suggestions?

Remove power from the opener. Then, pull the red release rope and manually lift open the door. It should move with little effort. Next, pull the door halfway down and let go. The door should stay where you left it. If it fails either test, the door lift springs need replacement or adjustment. If it works ok, follow the proceedure in the owners manual for adjusting the up and down limit sensors, and the emergency reverse adjustment.

I have a model 139.53672srt1 garage door opener.Door opened fine but will not close from remote or wall switch, light goes on but door does not move or engage.

if you hold down the wall button will the door close? if yes, then the safety photo sensors are the issue==pretty common issue. either they are not aligned or one of the wires to then is lose or broken or shorted out(staples thru the insulation)

Guardian garage door open will not close, it beeps 12 times

optic sensor issue most likely. check alignment, check wire for breaks, check staples shorting out wires. it you hold the wired wall button and the door closes, then it is a sensor issue. you can also just jump the terminals where the wires connect on the opener motor and see if it works normally, if so, again the sensors are the issue.

Garage door opener not working

Sensor must show steady light to close circuit and let opener work. If aligned, then there is a loose or broken wire. Try reaiming first to get steady light. Then check all wires . Another way to test and prove that is the issue is if u hold down the wired button at ur back door and the opener closes, then it is sensor issue. Good luck.

How to fix my garage door opener?

I'm assuming you mean that it won't close, only open? If that's the case then your eye beams may need to be adjusted. The wall button can override the sensors whereas the remotes can not.

My garage door opens fine, just wont close with remotes. Lights just flash. I have to use the opener in garage and keep the button pressed in till the door is fully closed or it will reverse.

Clean both safety sensors lens located at the bottom of the garage door frame. Make sure both sensors led lights are lit. If not they are out of alignment and you will have to loosen the wing nut on the sensor that is lit and move it, trying to get the other sensor to light.

Garage door doesn't close properly

I too am having the same issue. I replaced my console control because my garage door was unresponsive and that fixed that issue. Now I have to hold the button down sometimes double tapping the button and then holding it down to close it. I believe the first place to check is the limit switch. Look at your owners manual or get online help in adjusting that. If that does not work you may need a new logic board. As far as the sensors go, one is a sender and one is a receiver. They have indicator lights and when they are aligned they light up. Check those first as a logic board is usually alot more expensive. Check ebay though as I did as there are plenty of good used parts available. Just get the numbers off of your logic board so you know what to look for as far as model number and date of manufacture. Good Luck.

Garage Door Wont Close Craftsman 1/2 HP (1998)

What it is is the electric beams at the door are getting blinded buy the sun or out of line. They are the two black boxes on both sides of the door about a foot from the ground. Put a piece of card board in front of them not blocking the beam dut to block the sun. All that they are is safety beams for kids so they do not get hurt. If you have to move them to the top where the sun will not hit them. Sorry to say though you can not remove them all the way. Also make sure the lite on them is not blinking if so they are out of line.
