Hey, sounds like you may have a damaged operating system (I assume you have Window XP or later). Just re-install Windows with the disc or recovery option (if you have Windows installed on your motherboard) and select the recovery console, so you don't lose your data. If this is a problem with your bios or actual PC, you may want to contact the Gateway Technical Support at support.gateway.com or 1-800-846-2000.
