Question about ASUS Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Asus crossfire motherboard

I ordered an open box board and was sent nothing but the board. If u are familiar w/ this, it is supposed to come w/ a separate sound card. Well it didn't, but it has a fiber out and a coax for digital. I can't install drivers and the digital outs are not on. The bios has a HD audio setting. I have tried it both ways. My old asus has dig outs and I remember having to jump the front header on the board to enable my rear output. I have looked into the manual online and it shows the front header in one of the diagrams, but says nothing about it. AC 97 and soundMAX ADI1988 is the key. Will these digital outputs work w/out the card, drivers and software? What is the solution. This may be a challenge, have fun!

If you do NOT have the soundboard for the asus crossfire you then need to buy a sound card for it using either the PCI or the PCI-E 4x slot for another sound card . Open box means you do NOT get all the parts .

Crossfire crsashes in games

OK. As Cool Hand Luke would say..."What we have here is a failure to communicate." The MB listed in the article does not support Crossfire; it doesn't even have PCIe slots. It has an AGP 4x slot...that's all. You must have a different MB than listed, and until and unless we know what board you actually have, we won't be able to help you.

Dualgraphics

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_FM1/F1A75M_LE/#specifications

To enable crossfire, you must have 2 identical graphic cards.

The onboard graphic can`t be used with the hd6670.

This means that you must buy another hd6670 to add on the mainboard.

The graphic cards homepage:

http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AMD_Series/EAH6670DI1GD3/

AMD CrossFire technology is the ultimate multi-GPU performance gaming platform. Unlocking game-dominating power, AMD CrossFire harnesses the power of two or more discrete graphics cards working in parallel to dramatically improve gaming performance.

You also need a large power supply min. 500 watt to have enough power.

Please disable the onboard graphic in the device manager.

Good luck

Please help me identify where is the north and south of motherboard

Its normally printed on the board, north bridge and south bridge. But I would suggest that it would be advisable to go to the ASUS website, follow links for downloads and support. There, you should be able to download a user manual for your motherboard and all the drivers, which you will need to install when you get your PC up and running.

Asus Board MOdel Number P4BGL (845 Mxl) is giving an error called Chasis opened or tampered.?

I read a solution of your problems, i did not ry this. But i want you to try in your motherboard: this was qoute by
" 9. anonobomber, 07-05-2002 09:51 read the manual from your motherboard, I'll quote it for you; Chassis Intrusion Lead (4-1 pin CHASSIS) This requires an external detection mechanism such as a chassis intrusion monitor/microswitch. The sensor is triggered when a high level signal is sent to the Chassis Signal Lead, which occurs when a panel or light detector is triggered. This function works with an optional ASUS CIDB chassis intrusion module (see your vendor for more details). If the chassis intrusion lead is not used, a jumper cap must be placed over the pins to close the circuit.
pinout 1[+5volt] [power supply standby] [chassis signal] [ground]
in order to supress the messages you are getting you will need to get a jumper to fit over the chassis signal and ground to bypass the chassis intrusion detection circuit.
This has nothing to do with resetting the CMOS. For board specific locations of the pins check http://www.asus.com.tw for the manual pertaining to your motherboard"
