its not NEW its , NEW OLD STOCK (NOS)
old lightscribe, drive. the drive that prints labels on top.
NO OS STATED nor any PC stated.. wow.
Lightscribe is mostly not supported now. (read the wiki, on that it dont lie)
obviously and very hard to diagnose.
1-bad drive.
2: bad driver for drive
3: upgrated OS and it dont support this (why post lacking OS)????
4: bad media.

From HP's official site, they started phasing out Lightscribe drives in HP computers in 2011, due to "industry conditions beyond our control."
windows 8, 8.1 and w10 its not supported.
go to HP.com read what your PC supports, with the unstated
by you PC, and unstated OS
tdk and verbatium stopped making them.

I tried changing that back, because it was in 'high'. It did the same thing. Would you happen to know if that is covered in my warranty? I just bought this laptop three mos. ago. Or should i try uninstalling that program and re-installing it?
