My compaq has a web cam but doe not work - Compaq AVC00-AA Webcam

First check if ur builtin webcam is enabled in the BIOS . This is easily checked by turning on your computer and following the screen to enter BIos setup . Its usually a simple press of F2 key before the operating system screen pops up .
Second while the operating system pops up , check in the device manager if the webcam is properly installed . This is easy for windows system where you just go into Control Panel , then System Properties , then Advanced Properties , down to device manager .
Third , simply do a test on Windows Update , Maybe there is a driver conflict or a new webcam driver present and you simply download the updates for your computer

Skype does not recognize a web cam at all. I know the web cam worked a while back. I think the drivers might be missing. How do I get new drivers?

download new drivers form the internet for your webcam and then install it.you can search drivers for your webcam from the website www.brothersoft.com

I but a new compaq laptop with a built in webcam and it won't work. i tried everything and somehow nothing happens! help?
