Yes it has a fuse. Take the cover off and the fuse is on the right hand side, behind the control panel

I have a Sharp Carousel model R-1874-T. It suddenly stopped working. No lights are on. I checked the outlet and there is power coming there. Is there a way to reset the microwave?

Steve,
You probably have a blown fuse.

Unplug your microwave and turn it around and remove the screws holding cover on and then remove the cover. Look for where the power cord goes into the back of the unit and follow the black wire from the cord to where it ends. It should stop an either a circuit board or a fuse holder. Make sure that you replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse as what you take out. You will find the amp rating stamped on one of the silver collars on each end of the fuse. Good luck!

My Kenmore elite microwave model 401.88523011 has lost power. The electrical outlet still has power to it. Is there an internal fuse or circuit breaker that may be causing the power outage?

Your microwave has an internal fuse. Usually 10 to 20 amp. You can pick some up at home depot or radio shack. Make sure you get the same amps and volts as the original fuse. Will be printed on your microwave some where usually. And if its one that is part of a double oven deal make sure that you check you're circuit breakers for the kitchen. Good luck.

There seems to be no power. No clock. no nothing. It was working fine and then jut stopped. Circuit is not tripped. I tried unplugging and plugging again.

most likely you will have to remove the louvers or trim above the cooking cavity to get to the fuse, look for screws holding the trim/louvers on, if no screws are apparent, the piece may slide to the left or right and pop off.

Unplug your microwave. Although it might seem like no electrical current could possibly be running through your appliance, it could still have stored electrical current somewhere in the system. Be safe rather than sorry and unplug it before you begin.

Find the wiring diagram for your model of GE microwave. You can contact GE directly to get this if you cannot locate your owner's manual. Note the fuse locations and get a screwdriver. Some GE fuses are located under the louvers, while others are located in the door.

Open up the microwave and locate the blown fuse. Sometimes you cannot determine a blown fuse by visual inspection so check it with a multimeter for continuity across the terminals.

  • 4

Replace the blown fuse. Go to your local hardware store and pick up a matching fuse. Make sure you check the model numbers of the fuse as well to be sure you get the right component. Install the new fuse and put everything back together.

Check the continuity of the circuit if you continue to have power problems. If you have a problem with continuity in the circuit, then you may have a bigger problem than just a blown fuse. Sometimes a power surge will fry a GE microwave's circuit board, which you will need to replace.

Wife smoked up the microwave now it has no power to it

If your M/W is a counter top model and you feel comfortable about removing the outer case the power supply should be fuse protected, open it up and search and check all fuses that you can find for any fuses that may have popped to protect that circuit when your wife accidently smoked whatever it was.Good luck and don't worry about radiation contamination inside the M/W just abide by the warning labels on internal parts!

Microwave won't turn on. Seems like it is not getting power. I checked breaker. I am looking for a fuse. You know where one is? It is a GE Spacemaker(2 yrs old) model # JVM1440WH04

    • Make sure that the microwave is plugged into a grounded outlet. It must be a 3-prong outlet.
    • Make sure the clock is set.
    • Check to see if a programming sequence was entered. Sometimes improper programming or a program sequence such as delay start can cause the touch panel to be non-responsive. Unplug microwave or turn off house circuit breaker for 30 seconds. Plug back in, or reset circuit breaker, and try reprogramming unit.
    • Check the house circuit breaker or fuse box. If the microwave is DEAD and there is no display and nothing works- the problem could be a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

How can I get the power to come on my Sharp microwave?

The problem may be an electrical one. Microwave ovens require a lot of power. Often, they use most of the power available to the circuit they are plugged in to. If there is not enough power in the circuit to feed the microwave and whatever else is plugged into that same circuit the fuse will blow or the circuit breaker will kick off.

Go to your electcical box, and check the breakers or the fuses. If one of the breakers has kicked, reset it by pushing it all the way off and then back on. If the fuse is blown, unscrew it and screw in a new one of the same amperage.

good luck. please rate my answer. thanks
