There is a patch that you can download and run to resolve this issue.
Step 1:
Download the following patch:
http://swdownloads.lexmark.com/Patches/3500-4500/3500-4500.exe
- To start the process, double-click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
- Reboot the PC.
- Unplug the power adapter from the back of the printer.
- Plug it back in after 30 seconds.
- Try to scan again.
If the problem still exists, follow Step 2 below.
Step 2: Download the following patch:
http://swdownloads.lexmark.com/Patches/3500-4500/3500-4500wifiethernetpatch.exe
- Double-click on the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
- Reboot the PC.
- Unplug the power adapter from the back of the printer.
- Plug it back in after 30 seconds.
- Try to scan again.
If the problem is still the same
1.Get the printer ip address of the printer (ex: 192.168.1.10)
-press settings on the printer panel.. go to network setup.. View
TCP / IP, open a browser (IE or mozilla) and type in the printer ip address
-you will see the printer page and then go to configuration.. choose scan to network host
-delete all the computer name listed
2. Go to start, all program.. choose
Lexmark 3500-4500 series and choose
Lexmark Solution Center
-go to Advanced, click on networking and then click on Change PC name or PIN
--rename the PC name and then click on Ok
3. Turn off the printer, unplug it for 10 secs
4. Try to scan, it should work
if it's still the same you need to
uninstall the printer driver and download the updated driver in
Lexmark.com
-reinstall it using the downloaded driver
