If your MSI Wind is running XP you can restart your computer in safe mode and log into the Administrator account then reset the password. Step by step instructions are below:

Step 1: Boot up your computer, while it is booting hold down the "F8" key. This will bring up the Windows Advanced Options Menu.

Step 2: Use your arrow keys to change the selection to "Safe Mode" then press enter.

Step 3: Once windows boots up you should see a user account named "Administrator", select this user and log in.

Step 4: Once you are logged in click the "Start" button in the bottom left corner of the screen, look on the right side of the menu for an option named "Control Panel" and select it.

Step 5: Once at the control panel click on "User Accounts" then at the bottom of the screen click on the name of the user you want to change the password on.

Step 6: Once you've selected the user you want to change, choose the option "Change Password" or if you no longer want a password choose "Remove Password". You may now restart your computer and log into the account you were locked out of.

Do I need cdrw or dvd to burn a slideshow?

You need a blank CD or DVD to burn any time onto disc. Just depends on size of data. 700MB for CD and 4.7 GB on DVD. The WR is for rewritable disks.

My computer i completely wiped off i need to put window xp back on it. how can i do that ?

Before you start, you must have your Windows XP installation CD and the product key available.

  1. Start your computer from the Windows XP CD (or boot disks). To do this, insert the Windows XP CD into your CD or DVD drive, and then restart your computer.
  2. When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message appears on the screen, press any key to start the computer from the Windows XP CD.
  3. At the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to begin Windows XP Setup

My CD/DVD drive does not work....my computer does not identify it as a cd/dvd drive

Hello,

You may need to reinstall the drivers for the optical drive and reboot your pc. You can find the drivers on the system DVD rom that came with your pc or you can download them from the MSI support page.

Good Luck,
