Question about HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Scanner error with no messages

My HP F380's scanner will not function. There are no error messages but the scanner itself does not budge. When you open the lid typically there is slight movement, there now is none. I obviously cannot copy either and am now unable to align the printer cartridges which rely on this functionality. You can hear the cartridges move when you fire it up but nada from the scanner. Please advise.

Many problem of this printer caused by leaking ink,

look inside the printer using flashlight, at left side / ink cart. parking position,
ussually, there is ink drops to mainboard, this can affect one or all of it's function.

To fix it, you need to unpacking, and clean the mainboard.

May this help.

Do not place any paper on the scanner and open the lid and press scan button and check if the light glows and moves forward and backward. If the light does not glow its a problem with scanner light.

Also try to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers.

Cant get the scanner to work

You may need the "full-featured" software installed on your computer in order for your DeskJet F380 scanner to function. If you do not, you may download this software from the HP support site: (choose your operating system)

If you are having some other problem with your scanner, you will need to outline the problem in detail.

My hp deskjet printer can not copy or scan

Error message?
Just put something on the scanner glass and press the print button in the printer itself, leave the computer alone.
Did it work? if so... there's something wrong with the HP software, re-install.
That machine takes copies without the computer on, so, it should work.

HP 7590 office jet pro scanner does not communicate

Hello,

The scanner function is not available when you are connected wireless, you must be connected via USB to your PC for the scanner to function correctly.

HP F380 All in One - Scanner Cant Scan, Photo Copy. but can print

I need a some more information from you. What is the exact error message your getting?  In the mean time try this and report back.
Try this first, shut your system all the way down (computer) then once the computer is shut down, turn your printer off and then boot your computer system back on, disable all running programs and then turn on your printer and report back what has happened, try your functions and see if the all in one works or if you get an exact error message. Sometimes it can be a driver conflict or a bad bulb, I am not sure until I can get back some more information from you.

HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One Compatible with vista

I had the same problem. I could print, but not scan.

However, if you open up Paint and go to file and scan, it will scan your document. For some reason, using the scan button on the printer itself will not work with Vista, but using Paint will. I also heard that using Windows fax and scan will also work.
good luck

HP F380 not scanning

This has happened to me on several occasions with a couple of different HP all-in-one scanner/printer's. The HP driver/program itself may be in a phase where it's attempting to complete a scan, which would prevent you from scanning anything else. You can confirm whether or not this is the problem by restarting your computer and attempting another scan. You'll get an error message saying the scanner is currently in use. You may want to try to completely remove the installation files for the scanner, and reinstall either from the disk or let windows install it for you via "plug and play". Then update the drivers from hp's website. See if that resolves your problem.
