If your notebook has many vertical lines, it is very unlikely that there is anything wrong with the hardware, it may be a bad display configuration. If you boot and you constantly see the lines all thru booting, then yes, you may have a video problem, possibly bad video RAM. Get warranty repair if you have any otherwise the repair may cost more than getting a new laptop.

if this line is there during boot up then it is a monitor problem usually. but if it is not then it is a problem with your windows files. you could try reinstalling your windows from the disks you were given with it? otherwise i will look into it. email me if you need more help. email@example.com
The vertical line is a bad pixel sensor at the edge of the screen, your screen has hundreds of vertical and horizonal pixel sensors. This is an indicator that the screen is going out and need replacing.
