Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Washer stops at the point it should drain the water and continue on with the rinse cycle. You don't hear any noise at the point it should drain the water.

This is a Kenmore 80 series top load washer.
I am not sure what "click" i am listening for. I raise the lid and close and when the lid is almost all the way shut i hear how the little piece of plastic touches a gray part and slides through. Not a true click. I wonder even if it is a real "click" that you are referring to.

    Let me know?

I greatly appreciate your information, I find it very helpful. I believe you are correct and that the problem is the lid switch. I will be buying a lid switch today and have the information to go about and installing it for this washer. I will let you know if this works. It is interesting to know that lid switches 'die out'.

    Thanks again.

Lid switch most likely ..listen for a click when lid is raised and slowly shut..depending on brand or model switch is on right side of lid opening or under edge just behind hinges

should an audible click from where pin stricked and pused lever down if no click try pressing down in switch area with lid closed or press switch manually with pencil or something that will fit through hole with washer in spin position and knob pulled out try pressin lever down as far as it will go if works replace switch travel is too far for lid pin to reach

Washer WPSR3100WOWW Will wash but not drain and spin... Stops at the rinse Cycle

Christina,
Does it leave water inside the tub? There are a couple of possibilitys. One could be the drain pump. If this fails the wash/rinse cycle will stop as it can sense the water not being pumped out. Can you hear the light sound of a small motot running when it goes into rinse cycle? Listen down at the very bottom far right side or far left side. If you hear the drain pump motor running is there any water discharging out the drain tube going into the wall? You should easily hear the flowing water. If not you have a few possible problems: Drain pump has an obstruction in or around it or, drain pump is actually bad.

My MayTag Atlantis washer will not spin or drain the water out, when it gets to the rinse cycle or spin cycle , it just makes a buzzing or clicking noise.

The brake mechanism is not releasing properly. The noise your hearing is the motor trying to move but can't. Do not continue to operate the washer or you will burn out the motor...an expensive replacement. See instructions for my other solutions.

Kenmore washer model 12502100 goes into rinse cycle fills with water turns then stops. won't drain just stops hear humming or buzzing noise.

Try to put it on rinse on another cycle, like normal, heavy duty or delicate. If it works, then your timer is probably bad. If it doesn't work then maybe the pump. Best of luck

Solution for Washer Kenmore 80series stopped on SPIN CYCLE and no Drainage or motor running.

** What was stopping it to drain was the defective limit switch which when the cover lid is closed starts the spin and the drain at the same time. I jumped the wires to get my close washed and I have to replace it for security. I had to unscrew the front control panel and remove the casing that wraps around the washer to have access for the limit switch wireing harness. I cut the two black wires and joined them with a wirenut so that I was able to continue my wash and draining the water leftt over.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Whirlpool Washer - Imperial Series Quiet Wash 2

your washers drain hose is too far down the drain pipe which is causing a siphoning action pull the washers drain hose out pipe some you should be able to hear water dropping into the pipe the reason it only happens in the rinse cycle is because the water from wash is being drained and before the water vacuum is broken the rinse water comes in causing it to keep draining

Won't fill during rinse cycle

It keeps spinning or you just hear noises and it doesn't end cycle ? Following your description regarding water in tub when you start a new cycle, check for : * Switch level - The switch level is usually a diaphragm device with a small clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. I am not familiar with this specific machine, but if you will remove the cabinet, you will find it easily. Clear first any obstruction in the tube,In case it doesn't help, disconnect the wires from the unit (you should disconnect first machine's power cable !!!!!) and measure with a multi-meter on its tugs for continuity and disconnection while you are inhale and blow to its tube. In case it doesn't react, you should replace it. * Pump and drain host - Check that pump works and that you have no blockage on your drain line. Good luck !! (courtesy dovi)
