Question about JVC Cameras

1 Answer

I have a JVC Mini DV Camcorder model GR-D7OU. When I turn it on, there is an error message that says:"Condensation, Operation Paused." It has been like that for a week. It will not allow a casset to seat properly. What is the problem?

Try this one:

1. Take of the battery and take all of the screws out of the exterior and also behind the LCD. I recommend drawing a sketch of each view of the cam on a pice of paper(top, side, bottom, back) and place every screw it its rightful place, cause they're different sizes and you're shure to mix them up if you're not careful

2. Carefuly pull the two sections of the camera apart (left and right). You will notice a connector linking the two parts

3. Disconnect the connector from one side. I think you can disconect it only from one side, you have to pull up on a strapping mechanism. Careful not to force it. Figure it out patiently.
Wait about 5-6 minutes and re-connect it. This kinda resets the whole camera.
4. Put it back together.
Hope that helps..........

you can try gently drying it with a hairdryer not too close or too hot but try to get the moisture out that is causing your problem. this could have been caused by coming in from the cold to a warmer room. this should fix it.

Getting a message on my camcorder lcd. "condensation operation paused"

According to my Canon manuel, it occurs when condensation forms water droplets inside the camera. It also says that the camcorder will auto matically shut off. Time will vary depending on location and weather condition. General rule is 2 hours.

Jvc gr d50.. "condensation, operation paused"

Set it in a bowl of rice for a couple days or leave it out in the open air till it works again. Do not use a hair dryer or any type of pressurized air source. The rice works for cell phones that take a dip in a water source too.

JVC Model: GR-D7OU

If you refer to the message of condensation, test cleaning the sensor of condensation, a little black square joust behind of the drive motor, the drive motor is located too far on the left side of the mechanism, cleanup whit a qtip moistened lightly in some window cleaner, if this one gets dirty surely it was the problem, wait a few minutes to dries the product on the sensor and try it.

Condensation, operation paused, JVC Video Camera model GR-D70AS

If the camera becomes damp or cold and brought into a warm atmosphere damp forms in the mechanism which would cause the tape to stick and become damaged or fouled.

leave the camera to warm up for a few hours and the fault should clear.

If not the most common reason is the dew sensor has failed and needs replacing

Condensation

This is a bad or dirty dew sensor, a common problem with this model. It's not a user correctable problem. Your local camcorder repair shop should take care of it ( under $100 ).
