Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 Digital Camera

1 Answer

TPSA left video on

On a recent flight back from Canada, TPSA inspected my suitcase and apparently turned on my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 digital camera and LEFT IT ON. When I unpacked it and found it turned on, I turned it off and left it for a while, then turned it back on, only to find that the viewing screen only shows (on all settings) bunches of horizontal lines that look like "static" on an old TV, with no picture at all showing through. I tried changing the batteries but this had no effect. Can anyone help? Of course, I'm a few weeks beyond the end of my warranty period.

Check if you can take pictures , if you can take picture the same and tranfer them to computer, then it is either a faulty lcd display, or the display cable out of place

If you did the test above (trying to take pictures) and it results it is the LCD then you can have it repaired at any camera repair shop.
If it does not take pictures, or pictures have lines and weird shapes, then either the board inside the camera, or the sensor are faulty, in this case the repair will be more expensive.
Regarding your warranty, if it is just expired contact Panasonic ans check if you can validate your camera for warranty the same, you never know, in this case do not mention TPSA guys touched the camera, this can invalidate warranty.
You can also contact Panasonic using the phone number printed on the last pages of your owner manual.

Try formatting the new card in the camera. Also, download any pics from the old card using a card reader and then, format it in the camera.

How big of a memory card can I use in my panasonic lumix DMC-TZ1 camera? 2gbs , 4gbs or 8 gbs. thank you from Douglas James misterdoug2003@yahoo.com

Doug,

The Panasonic DMC-TZ1 camera supports SDHC cards. SDHC is a "Secure Digital High Capacity" memory card, and the spec says an SDHC capable device can use any SDHC card - so, you can go 16GB, 32GB or more - limited only by how much money you want to spend.

Enjoy your camera!

Multiple copies of pictures

Yes may be, there was a same query here;

Check the settings for "Burst Mode" in your Cam, it will be under main settings menu. Turn it off, if the problem prevails better backup all the pics/videos and then Reset the Camera.

If helpfull, kindly do Rank.

Do you still have the camera? Did you get it fixed? It not is the LCD screen in good condition. Would like to buy if you haven't gotten it fixed.

My Lumix TZ1 stopped working

Simple solution. I recharged the camera battery and the camera came back to life. I wasn't expecting it to, because the battery was fully charged when I had connected it to the computer, so I figured the problem was not battery-related. Apparently keeping the camera connected to the computer for such a long time drains all the power in the camera battery.
