Toshiba model TZ55X71 pojection TV

After TV warms up, the screen will turn green then it will start to turn its self off for a few seconds, then turn back on. It does this about every 5 mins., and has just started this within the last several days. What can we do to fix this problem

More than likely its the lamp. You ned to open the tv up to check this. If you have no previous knowledge i'd suggest you get a professional since it contain REALLY HIGH VOLTAGES WHICH WILL KILL YOU.. Basically what you need to do is check the malp and replace if necessary. Other than that because of the Warmin up part you stated above (ONLY CUTTING OF WHEN IT GETS WARM) Changes are very hing there are cracked solder)circuits) on the board and it may need resoldering.

If it's still under warranty you could bring it black to the place you purchased it and have them fix it for free. Trying to fix it on your own could not only make it even worse, but endanger you in the process.

Will Not Turn On

First you need to do a self test diagnosis and then if it comes up with:
SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB
Do self test by pressing Input/Device and Menu at the same time for 5 sec. the set will show a 2 digit seq. first blinks followed by a short pause then the second.

I TRY TO TURN ON THE TV. i GET A FLASHING GREEN,

This symptom seems unusal as there is, what I assume to be, a self check system that monitors conditions and progress of the start up cycle. If there is an abnormal condition recognized during start up, after a short amount of time there should be a malfunction indicated by the LEDs on the front of the set.

Perhaps the self check system is not able to function. If you haven't tried yet, unplug the TV for a few minutes and try it again to see if a reboot of the controls will help. Other than contacting Sony customer service or a local authorized service company, this is the extent of my knowledge about what to try.

There is a error code check that can be displayed, but only if the lamp will come on. To display the error codes, start with the TV off. Using the remote, in sequence press: DISPLAY, 5, VOLUME - (down), POWER. Codes will then be displayed on the screen when the display comes on. To clear the displayed malfunctions, press 8, then press ENTER. To exit the error check mode, turn the TV off by pressing POWER.

No Picture.

I have the same TV, your projection bulb has quit/failed.

A loud pop was heard and the picture has gone followed by a red led fault light clicking on and off.

if your tv is less than 1 year old, and you registered it with Toshiba, you could qualify for a free replacement.

otherwise expect to pay 200.00 for a new bulb from Toshiba.

only good thing is you can replace it yourself, only tool needed is a phillips screwdriver.

you can check EbaY for prices less than 175.00 to 150.00
i am on my 3rd bulb within 4 years....

good luck!
