You will need to enter the BIOS to change your boot sequence. Most likely you will need to press one of the following keys as soon as the computer begins to boot (this will occur a few seconds after you turn on the machine).

F2
F10
F11
F12
or Delete

More than likely one of these keys will be used to enter the BIOS. You should see some text that will tell you which key to press (if you see an e-machines logo when the machine first boots up, try pressing the ESC key to clear the logo).

Once you are in the BIOS you should be able to find the proper menu that will allow you to change the boot order. There will be instructions on the BIOS menu that will tell you how to make and save these changes.

Please let me know if you need further instructions.

HOW DO I FIX A EMACHINES G52W BOOT SEQUENCE AND SETUP SO I CAN GET TO THE INTERNET ?

I believe you might want to set the boot to

1 DVD (first)

2 SATA Drive (second) Maybe you didn't have this listed as 2nd.

If you have a disk in the DVD drive it will say press any key to boot from the DVD drive.

How do I restore bios?

If all you have done is change the CMOS battery then the BIOS should be fine but it will have been reset to default settings which may have changed the Boot device and / or boot sequence.

Go in to the BIOS setup when you power on the computer and check that you have your main hard disk drive set as the main boot device.

How to install ram

Most E-machines have shared video memory. to increase the amount, enter the set-up utility before windows boots and change the amount to the max.48cb029.jpg

the blue or the black on the left with white tabs are where the ram is installed. if you go to crucial.com and enter the e-machines model # etc it will tell you what ram is compatible and what the max ram amount is.
