I have a Canon with a USB connection. Can I connect this to a Ethernet connection on my wireless router? (I had it working thru USB port of apple airport router, but new Verizon FIOS wireless router does not support USB connection, even though the router has one on it.)

There are more ways how to connect PC to router in your case.
My assumption is that your PC has no Ethernet port.

1. Use wireless connection. Activate Wi-Fi card in your PC and connect it to router by wireless network.
2. In case you do not have wireless router or you prefer cable link you can buy an USB Ethernet adapter.

If the printer has wireless capability built in , no cables are necessary. Install the printer driver in the mac as a wireless connection. Connecting a printer to the router is pointless, unless you want to install the printer as a network printer, which would disable wireless.

sometimes this router are afected by the lightnings, verify that the internet connection is working well by plugin the internet(ethernet) cable directly to your computer, if it gets connected to the internet we are sure the probleme is isolated to the router.
The easiest way to check if the problem is the router WAN(internet) port would be connecting a known good router just for few minutes

If your modem does not have have an Ethernet port on it. This is not the router that will do the work for you. And I personally does not seen any router yet with the USB port for the modem.

you are right, need cd for you lan card for it to work right,,but if you dont have it go to linksys web site and download the files you need

First try connection the Yellow ethernet cable from the rca modem to your computer's network connection. If you get a connection this way, then your modem will work with a ethernet cable. If not, then call Comcast for help. The modem ethernet out to computer port must be connected to the wan line of the router. Then you can connect an ethernet cable from your computer network connection to one of the 4 ports of the router. For wireless connections you must set up the router and wireless adaptor with the same settings to connect. Follow the routers directions.

1. USB modem is connecting a PC USB port with a DSL phone line: CANNOT be connected to a ROUTER LAN (ethernet NOT USB port).
2. Wireless ROUTER is NOT a modem and it CANNOT connect the Internet (or WAN) LAN port to any "phone line"
3. Connect the Router Internet (WAN) port to Modem (you need a LAN MODEM = a modem with a LAN/ETHERNET port)
4. Be sure your internet is running before strting ROUTER configuration with Router Company CD
   

that would be a settings issue for the router..the output of the modem should work on usb or ethernet..can you see the router from your desktop management application?
