Question about Toshiba 52HM95 52" HDTV Projection Television

Blinking Color My TV recently started blinking its red and blue colors. I get flashes where the color blatently changes for a split second before it reverts back to it normal colors. It almost looks like lightning strikes inside the TV. Is it a bulb or color wheel problem?

I have a flickering on the screen all the time and have a yellow shadow on the faces of all light colered people. I replaced the bulb recently. Is the bulb bad again?

I have a 56" Toshiba DLP with a similar problem. Color wheel/ballast were replaced about 30 days ago ($650). Then about a week ago we began seeing blue "interference" streaks in both DVR and DVD. Now we have red lightning-like flashes. Today I was forced to watch the Ryder Cup with flashing red grass and red streaks on the golfer's faces. TV is nearing 4 years old and I have to drive 100 miles to the nearest repair place. Any ideas?

I have a 56" Toshiba DLP with a similar problem. Had a new color wheel put in about 30 days ago ($650). Everything was fine until I noticed blue "interference" lines during DVD playback and also during DISH receiver use. Today we started getting red lightning-like flashes on the screen. Faces & grass today were partially red, flashing on and off. It goes away for a few minutes or as long as a few hours, then comes back. Anyone else have a solution? The repair shop is about 100 miles away (the ONLY repair shop west of Denver in Colorado). I don't trust them to fix this but since it's still under warranty, I'll probably have to return it to to them.

Took the Toshiba DLP back to the original service place and it was a bad color wheel --- second one in 30 days! Luckily it was under warranty and I paid nothing more. Sorry for the bad news for all of you who have the same problem. DLP now stands for Definitely Lousy Product.

I have a 50 inch DLP samsung and it wont power on after making a lot of noise (I replaced the lamp) worked fine for a few days now the red light and the right side green light is blinking. any sugge

The answers above are correct. It's either the lamp or the color wheel. Testing the lamp is pretty straight forward. Use an Ohm meter to see if the it's filament has continuity. It's unlikely that a good color wheel would fail immediately after changing the lamp. Look to see if some wiring is out of place and rubbing the wheel causing the noise you described. A jammed but otherwise good color wheel would cause the TV to shut down and display an error code.

My Sony KP-46WT500 screen shows the tv image in blue only for a few seconds, then it goes completely blank (as if it were off). Do I need to replace the bulbs?

It is rear projection TV that use 3 picture tubes of red-green-blue to show color picture on tv front screen.
Do you see standby red light blinking when TV shuts off after showing blue image for a while?
If red standby light is blinking, please count it how many times it blinks, there would be 3 seconds pause between blinks so count pause to pause and post it here to find out possible solution.
Thanks.

The tv will not come on . The power led is blinking 3 greens and then 2 reds. I have changed the light but still can not get the tv to do anything. I can't even shut the power off with the buttons.

Most likely its not the lamp thats bad but the color wheel is stuck. Check if the color wheel starts or not. You can make this out from the typical dlp switching on whine. If you have already changed the lamp, and there is no color wheel start noise, you have a bad color wheel.

You need to put in the values for x,y, of red, blue, green & white.
when you get the color wheel, sticker(printed values) was in the same box.
If you have, let me know and I''ll let you know how to put in.

Toshiba TP43H95 projection tv has power but no picture

If it shuts off and then the power light starts blinking red or it never comes on but the power light just blinks red continuously that is usually indicative of the convergence ICs (STK 392-110). You never want to replace the ICs without also replacing the resistors that are associated with them. There are usually 6 resistors, one for each of the colors and there corresponding direction, IE Red horizontal, red vertical, blue horizontal, ect. In the case of this model tv all of the resistors are 2.2 Ohm and 2watts. You will find them right where the STK 392-110 ICs are. Right in front of them. They are blue and have this color code on them. Red, red, gold, gold. These are represented by stripes on the resistors. You can get the parts from www.bdent.com They carry the ICs and the resistors. If you do not feel comfortable completing this repair I could do it for you if you send me the board. My email address is: missionelectronics@sbcglobal.net The cost is 375.00 and that includes parts.
Good Luck.

SONY KP53HS30 rear projection TV screen suddenly turned blue....

The blinking 5 times is an error code meaning that the white balance has a failure. And because you are experiencing a blueish screen then your problem lies in the circuit of the blue picture tube or possibly the blue tube itself is starting to go bad.
