The filter is located within the sump hose which is at the bottom middle of the drum secured by a white nylon clip slide it to the side to aid removal...hope this helps.....Good luck.....

Silicone dielectric fluid was manufactured not to contain PCBs. There is no assumption applicable to transformers known to be silicone-filled while in use, regardless of the date of manufacture. These transformers are regulated based on their actual PCB concentration. It is possible the transformer could have become contaminated during servicing with fluid containing $50 ppm PCBs
most probally the control module (bottom of machine) emw electronics are your best bet for a replacement, as otherwise they have to be programmed by hotpoint
If you spin the drum by hand, and it is niosy and rumbling then the main drum bearings have failed.
If under 5 years old, then you should be able to get it repaired under Hotpoint 5 year guarantee, You just pay for labour and call out, cheapest option, it is not really a D.I.Y job, as it is quite involved, and entails a lot of work.

Hi, yes it is. Hotpoint bwm12 is a built-in washing machine, the filter is located at the bottom (black round knob). Undo the filter by turning it to the left (please be sure there's no water inside the machine, or getas much as possible out before opening the filter).
