the clicking may have been coming from the relay itself, but it doesn't simply mean that the relay is faulty. clicking may also be caused by transformers, indicating that some electronic components have developed SHORT CIRCUIT. try measuring resistance of transistors and diodes near the power unit (unplug/turn the unit OFF of course) check also for the impedance of the output power transformers.
check the amplifier IC for short also.

had the same problem, it needs time to calibrate, you have to drive it over 19 miles per hour for at least 10 minutes or so and it should reset itself. I would just take it on a drive if you haven't done so yet.

Slim Samsung HDTV will not turn on

Hello
You haven't given the exact model number to your TV here. Anyway, check its mains fuse [can be located at its power regulator board] first. If it find opened, do not replace an other; without rectifying the fulat inside the power board. If protection fuse should blow up, surely there will be some reason for that, including short circuit or failure of components.
If you replace the fuse with an other one, the fuse that you will insert will also blow up, and may cuse more faults to other components. OK.

Power fuse blows when you push power button

Hello
You haven't specified anything about the description [brand name, model number etc] of your TV here. Anyway, if the power fuse blows instantaniously as you switch ON the set, no doubt that, there is some dead short circuit in the power regulator board of your TV. Never put no more fuse or switch ON the set until this fault has been retified. Sometimes there will be some bulged of shorted capacitors in the power sully regulator bard of your tV. Check for it. I'm herewith attaches the picture of a power supply board of Tv, [not with your's;] for you to identify what a bulged capacitor will be. If there is such capacitors on your TV's power supply baord, just repalce it with same size and capacity. Its capacity will be marked on it. gopakumarg43_51.jpg
See the bulged capacitors, marked with red arrow. You can see a good one, on the top right part of the board with flat top. You haven't given anymore details of your TV here with your problem post. So I could only give you this much information and repair tips. If you want any more assistance from me, feel free to get me by FixYa. OK.

Hi, I bought a Vizio L32 HDTV10A that didn't power-up. There were charred components on the power board (an 8-pin IC with heatsink and 2 resistors). I replaced the power board, and the power LED then...

change the mother board. the ic took a hit after the power board went off. it will test good without stress, but under power stress it break down. measure the output with osciloscope to check the waves you should get a saw tooth wave if the the ic is good under stress.

Speedo meter on the fiesta 2007 drops intermittently and comes back on. radio volume drops and car loses power slightly

Sounds like your alternator is trying to die out on you. Take it to the dealer to check the voltage that it's reading whenever the cars running, and when its not. Also, check the connector wires that connect to the alternator for bad spots. Or to see if the connectors are dirty. Hope this helps, James Booth

Insignia NS LCD32 no power

If one is domed on top and there several other of the same value replace them also even if not domed. Check fuse on power board. When plugged in there is a constant 5 volts that will be going to the main board from the power board. The main board will send a turn on voltage to the power board from the main. Disconnect the inverter boards from the power board. If it still won't turn on replace the power board.

Blue screen on my haier 37 inch tv

my tv just went to a blue screen one day. I can turn it on and then it will just remain on the blue screen. Any button (except the volume) I push on the remote comes up on the screen "no signal". What would you suggest? I have been reading about replacing a fuse or board? Most of those are on the 42 inch version---I have teh 37 inch version.

I cannot find the internal backup battery.

I ran into the same issue with my Onkyo 787 receiver that the internal settings would get reset after a short power off. Getting all settings entered again (preferences, speaker distances, volumes, stations, etc.) is a real pain. Good news is that Onkyo DOES have a battery (actually a capacitor) to store the settings and that capacitor can go bad. Another good news is that replacement is quite easy.
The settings are preserved by a 5.5V 0.1F capacitor. Digikey sells it for around $1.50, you may choose a higher capacitance, as 0.3F if you're replacing it. I didn't want to wait for the part, so I decided to replace with something I had around from an old power supply. I used 10V 1000uF capacitor as a replacement and it works fine. Yes, it is 100x less in capacitance, but preserving setting for a short time is better than not preserving them at all. Settings survived a couple of days disconnect and I haven't tried leaving the receiver off for any longer yet.
Here's how you can find it: it's on the main horizontal board, on the same side where the volume control is. It's small, looks like a watch battery turned on the edge. Mine was in a blue shrink wrap. I cut off the leads next to the battery and left the wires sticking out of the PCB. There's plenty of room to put any capacitor.
