it may mean nothing, squeaks from brakes area not uncommon. on the other hand, if the noise changes when you apply the brakes or if you just haevnt had the brakes inspected latley, it could be the wear indicator rubbing, this means the brakes are at the minimum thickness and should be replaced
A few things could be the problem. Are you certain that you don't have a small rock jammed somewhere and that's what's rubbing? If the pads are down to the sensors, that would start making a squealing noise. The pads will still show lining on them when the sensors are starting to touch the rotors.
most probly your brake pads are worn out and the noise you hear is them scraping against the rotor which also may need to be relaced too ,have it checked out by a shop,or a friend who works on cars and save some money.
This is probably the brake pad wear indicator telling you that it is time for brake pad replacement. This device scrapes on the rotor surface when the pads wear down to a certain thickness.
rubbing or scraping noise when the brakes are applied could mean that you need new brakes. On your truck, the brakes would be needed at about 60,000 miles and you really should have the rear brakes redone then as well. Otherwise, check to make sure that nothing got wedged up into your wheel well.....You really haven't given alot of info to go on..
Bad motor mounts will not usually cause the kind of noise you describe they will cause more vibration to be felt at all times.
Sometimes the brake rotor dust cover plate can rub against the rotor and make a grinding/scraping sound. Raise the car, remove the wheel, and check the clearance between the dust cover and the rotor.
If your shocks/struts are bad the tire could be rubbing against the strut. Check the strut.
Have you checked the metal clips that olds the brake pads in the front galiper bracket. They usualy rust, break loose and come in contact whit the disc, creating a squeaking noise. Those should be replace since they are needed for the brakes to work properly
You brakes are no longer any good. Most times, the squeaking and rubbing noises are caused by brake pad wear, but you say the brakes are fine. Otherwise, if by constant rotation speed you mean the squeaking/rubbing noise is present even when the brakes are not applied, you might want to get the wheel bearing inspected. also check out -------- The most common would be a loose P/S belt. If it is tight but is still the source, it could be a restriction in the P/S system causing high pressure and resistance in the pump.
