Check carefully the power cable, if no damage then probably the there is a bad fault in the board.

Check it on a different socket. IF does not turn on at all, or is the power cable or there is a fault in the power supply.

Power cable is "intact" does not make any sense, someone need to grab a multimeter and test the power cable to know if it has continuity, if cable is ok, the power supply board inside must be tested. It has an internal fuse that you can just check, to check the rest you need to use a multimeter and to know what you are doing.

Have you checked the contacts from the power cord to the board power supply of the appliance? it is possible that you have a loose wire in there?

check for any damage on the power cord and then if a circuit tester is available, check if the device's power supply is passing power to the unit, this is so you will have an idoe on which part is to be replaced or repaired.

okay so the best move will be getting a circuit tester and see if the power supply inside it passing current to the unit.

if no power indicator check for broken power cord, if ok at this time you will need to remove the cover of the dvd player to access the power supply.then look for blown fuse or any burnt parts here.

Power goes off when a cassette is inserted. Tried cleaning heads but it won't even run that. When power is turned back on the cassette is immediately ejected.

Good day!!!

Most common problems
  • VCR refuses to FF or REW and shuts off.
  • VCR shuts off entering PLAY or REC or at random during PLAY or REC.
  • VCR eats tapes.
  • VCR doesn't accept tapes or ejects them without cause.
  • Sound is wavery, fluctuating, or muddy.
The cause for all of these is very often a bad idler tire or other dirty, worn, or tired rubber parts

I have an RCA vcr/dvd-r unit that will not turn on at all. Overnight, It completely has died. Fuse checks ok. Nothing on the front panel lights up, and nothing comes on. Help

I find the main filter capacitor sometimes becomes defective, "may or not show bulge at the top" next the power transistor shorts loading down the power supply. To bring a technician in will not be cost effective in a lot of cases because of the expense of parts and labor.

Our Magnavox MWR20V6 will no longer turn on. We replaced the fuse inside and it blew out as soon as we turned on power. The power cord, all inside leads, and components look fine. What usually goes with...

there is a diode or transistor that is defective. that is why the fuse keeps blew out. on visual the components looks fine but if you check the diode or transistor components they are so called open or defective.

PANASONIC DMR-ES30V KEEPS SWITCHING OFF

I had this code (f09) on my Panasonic DVD VHS recorder. After seeing that it meant overload I took the cover off to look for burnt out components. I found that an electrolytic capacitor had bulged (look up capacitor plague on wikipedia). I replaced the capacitor with one of a similar value from an old power supply and it worked fine.
