Just buy a external Microphone then insert it in to the mike jack to use it.

The D610 has no internal microphone. You'll need an external microphone

Keyboard problem on the Dell Latitude D610

Hello Bdowhower9,

It could be a bad keyboard, and it could also be a slightly loose connection.. I actually caused a similar problem in a dell I had a few years back. I took it apart to fix a component that required me remove the keyboard. It has a snap-in connector, and I was a bit rough putting it back in and I scratched the connector. I ended up losing several keys all over my keyboard, and I ordered a new one to replace it.

The keyboard connector to the motherboard may have just become loose or dirty through use over several years; you may want someone to pop it open and check it out.

If it turns out to be just a bad keyboard, you can order a new one for not too much:

Parts People is a solid and reputable parts site; I've ordered from them no less than four times in the past for stuff.

Good luck!
