Stuck in sleep mode

remove the battery and unplug your power chord for 1 min. then plug your power chord back in and try to turn it back on.
if it works then plug your battery back in and see if it boots your system up without the power chord.
if everything works fine then go into your control panel and change your power options.

It just freezes up when you turn it on,what do you do?

Try booting in safe mode and see if it happens. To boot in safe mode shut the computer completely down...when you turn it on tap the F8 key multiple times and it should take you to an advance boot menu. Choose safe mode or safe mode with networking. If it boots fine that way, you may want to disable some items in your start up. You do this by clicking the start button--> click run--> type the letters msconfig (without spaces) under the startup tab, you may see a whole bunch of stuff check. Uncheck all uneeded software starting up. reboot the machine in regular mode and see if that helps. post back with your findings-

Compaq Presario stuck in sleep mode

Connect the monitor to some other computer, e.g., a notebook, and see if it does the same thing. If it does, then the monitor is the problem.
If it does not, then your computer is not putting-out any "video" signal, and so the monitor goes to "sleep".

If you have MORE than one VGA-output port on your computer, connect your monitor to the "other" VGA port.

Or, press-and-hold the ON/OFF button on your computer, to force it to completely shutdown.
