Question about Panasonic Digital Cameras

Open Question

The camera turned off when I tried to zoom out. It kept happening. Now it just won't turn on. Charging the battery or trying to use it plugged in doesn't help.

Model PL81. Why does it zoom, beep, and shut down?

Are you positive that the battery is good? Turning on for a few seconds and then shutting down is a classic symptom of a battery that did not take a proper charge and as soon as the surface charge is used, unit will shut down. And what if your charger is not properly charging the battery?

If you have a battery eliminator try that in lieu of the battery to see what happens.

S4500 Not Turning on

Is the battery fully charged? Try charging the battery for 24 hours and then try turning it on again.

Camera won't switch on, put new batteries in it, took a photo to test, since then it won't switch on.

If you were able to take one shot before the camera packed up it can be that the battery does not have charge on it and so after the first shot it has drained the battery. So check out the charge on it or repeat charging to test once again.
Other wise it can be that the camera control unit is faulty. Try and reset by removing battery for a while and trying once again.

My Minolta Freedom Zoom will turn on and zoom but won't take pictures. The numbers dissapear when you try.

Hi. It could be that the camera needs more memory. Also replace your batteries. if the batteries are low the camera won't run properly.

I have a Fuji finepix j38. I went on the beach and it got a little wet and it wrote zoom error and now it isn't charging either.

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. Having a "zoom error" message is a camera malfunction, in this issue you can try to turn off and then turn it on again but this time you have to take care not to touch the camera lens or try not to blocked the camera lens while retrackting. If you still have the same issue you can try to visit this site for some steps you can do before sending your camera to your Fujifilm center.

In regards your issue about the charging of your battery,as you said before that you bought your camera to the beach. Try to clean the terminals with soft and dry cloth. Also, possible that the battery has reached the ends of its charging life. Purchase a new battery. If the battery still fails to charged, you have to contact your Fujifilm center.

Please let me know if you have any question.

Thank you for using Fixya.

The battery is fully charged. When I turn my camera on, it zooms out, then zooms in, then zooms out, then zooms in, etc. After doing this for about a minute, it finally stops and the screen reads ''Turn...

Try a manual reset...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

My camera won't turn on. the screen flashes, but nothing happens. it turns right back off. the lens is pushed all the way out like its zoomed, but its obviously not since i cant so anything with it....

I would try a new set of batteries.. It sounds like maybe the batteries you are using are not charging correctly or that the cell has well... died.. so try a new set of batteries and if that doesn't fix the problem I would (if you have electronic experience) take out the screws and see if there are any loose components inside that are making it so the camera isn't operational

Camera really messed up!

Have you tried taking out the batteries and leaving it alone for a bit, then loading new batteries? I would try this first before anything. Good Luck.
