How do I fix an oil leak on my cannondale lefty

First try to replace the oil and replace the oil seals then inspect the tubes for scratching/gouging while you have them apart.

I have a F1000 Cannondale hard tail. Can I upgrade the fork to a Lefty? If so, which Lefty is best?

I'm sorry but I believe you have this posted in the wrong product category? Please re-post the question in the proper category if this is the case, otherwise you have my apologies. This is the car and truck problem category

Shipping a bike. dismantling instructions; front fork in particular

Since there are a lot of varieties of the Lefty go here and search the list for "LEFTY".

http://www.cannondale.com/manuals

Or you might just get away with deflating the pressure preload and collapsing the fork.

I just bought a used Cannondale lefty fork. I was told that it can be stiffened by placing a pump on the bottom of the valve to add air into the fork. Problem is, the valve stem is so encased in the fork...

Hello ledpencil,
Pneumatic bike shocks require a special type of pump called a "shock pump" that is a high-pressure (up to 300psi!) but low-volume pump. They come with a very accurate gauge, pump handle, and a bleed valve/button to let off puffs of air to soften the shock. They also have a long flexible neck that screws onto the valve at the base of the fork. They're relatively small and moderately priced ($20-$40) and can be packed in a riding pack in case you want to change the stiffness on the fly. Here's a link to some online: http://www.jensonusa.com/store/sub/292-Pumps+And+Co2+Inflation-Shock+Pumps.aspx?s=1559&mfg=0&closeoutHotdeal=&use=&sort=Default&show=25&pricemin=0&pricemax=100

I have a bicycle (Cannondale Bad Boy SOLO Ultra 2009 white edition) and I can't find a front mudguard that will fit the front lefty soli fork setup. Any suggestions?

I have a set of SKS X3's for my Jekyll with a Lefty. The front has a special large insert for the headshock-sized opening at the bottom of the steerer tube. Maybe check with a Cannondale-shop to find one.

Here's another solution at the bottom...

Will the cannondale xc3 mtb stem fit on my lefty headshock? And how do I do it?

the XC3 stem comes in a 1.5 in clamp designed to fit on cannondale headshox systems. The lefty fork you have may or may not be compatible, you would have to check your fork to see if it is the right size.

There is an XC3 SL conversion kit for lefty forks that are not the same size and includes the stem and steerer replacement.

Swapping stems is quite easy on the cannondale. Loosen the two bolts holding the stem to the steerer and undo the bolts holding the handlebars, remove stem and replace.

If none of this makes sense then I would strongly urge you too take the bike into your local bike shop, preferrably a cannondale dealer, and have them show you. It will take only a couple minutes and they can confirm compatibility.

How to dismantle lefty

Hi!

The Cannondale Lefty fork can only be disassembled with speciality tools. You can read illustrated instructions here: http://www.gordlaw.com/index.php?Cycling:Cannondale_Lefty_DLR

Please check that your Lefty fork is identical to the one described, as the process and tools are different for the various Lefty editions.

As a warning, dismantling the fork could lead to serious injury if you don't know what you are doing. Please read through and understand all instructions before deciding whether to do it or not. Good luck.
