Try this
1. Go to Menu
2. Press Set Up Button.
3. Scroll down to Lock Highlight & Press.
4. Scroll down to Area Code.
5. Enter 0000 and again 0000 press the pause button.
6. Press Enter.
7. Change the Region Code to any Country you require.EG uk Would Be GB america would be US
8. Exit
It's along those lines! If you haven't a password yet, hit any 4 digits
you want as a password. Yes, you can just punch that in, but I find if
you want to take your time about it, steps 5 and 6 work by bypassing the
password.
Now if you download the full American manual & go to page 79 -
there's a lift of 2 letter combination and the countries associated with
them.
That unit should come region free already (region 0 or 0000)
If it isn't already, you can do it with the remote. I'll look up the code if you need me to, but the procedure I'd be giving you is normally to lock it to one region rather than having it region free, although I presume if it's locked to a region, switching it to region 0 would fix that.
I have just purchased a BD500 & cannot play any discs other than region 4 (we are in Australia). If you have the procedure to unlock it & set it to Region 0 I would be forever grateful :)
Please can some one tell me how to make it (LG-HLB54S) capable of playing all DVD's as mine has been set to GB in regional code i have tried changing it but still no luck, just want to be able to watch my DVD from all parts of the worls. so do i need it to be regional free if so how do i do it?
