Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Front loaders have the door opening actually at the front of the machine, similar to separate dryers so they can both sit side-by-side UNDER such things as kitchen units (as ours are!).
Top loaders obviously have to be in a position for the LID to be opened upwards and therefore could not go under units. These are fine for 'laundry rooms'

There are so many choices of each and it really depends on your own, personal requirements- one is not 'better' than the other I would suggest.
I also understand that some top loaders take bigger loads than fronts- but you would have to check ;-0)
Hope this helps,

John C

Maytag bravos, MVWB750YW0

Maytag is strong, durable and worth every penny. If I was buying another washer It would definitely be a maytag. They wash clothes thoroughly. Of all household appliances if have to have a maytag washing machine and my favorite vacuum cleaner.
Washing machines use a combination of water, detergent and wash action to deliver cleaning performance. Wash action is the movement of clothes provided by the washer during a cycle, and this can be different in front load vs. top load machines, as well as top load agitator vs. impeller models.

Is it alright to add vinegar in the Kenmore front load washer. I find this removes smoking odors the best.

The answer is YES but keep in mind that like all Front Load Washing machines, use less vinegar than you would a typical top load washer. If you would usually use 1/2 cup of vinegar (4oz) try using half of that.

Dear sir, We want to buy 02 nos of whirlpool make 8.5 kg washer 02 nos and one nos of dryer. We need the same for our factry on contineous operation so we want the best...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

I understand you want a whirlpool washer. What are you washing? It does make a difference on what would be recommended. The other question is does it have to be a front load machine or is a top loading washer ok?

Right off the top of my head for an 8.5 kg washer I would recommend the top loading MAT Series by Maytag (owned by Whirpool) These manual timer machines can take a beating and over loading only causes belt wear that is inexpensive and easy to replace. The only drawback is that the top loading machines use more water per cycle than a front loading machine. My thought is this... water is cheap... smaller front loading commercial machines used in continuous manner end up costing you more in repairs than you would pay for the water.

Product info: http://www.maytagcommerciallaundry.com/on_premiseslaundry/top_load_washers/commercial_energy_advantage__8482__top_load_washer_mat15mnaww.pro?scr=category

Once you see the linked pages select "on premises lanudry"

What I will tell you about commercial laundry machines is this. Keep the controls simple such as the MAT series. Maintenance parts are available on line and your down time will be minimal. The Maytags have the best warranty also.

As for the dryer Gas or electric? I am going to assume electric since you said "Factory"
For this I would recommend the MDE17 series Dryers, The dryers are 4 roller drum type dryers so the weight is carried equally front and rear of the drum so that the drum seals have a very long life.

I have been a Maytag repairman since 1970 and started in a family owned business. These recommendations are from years of experience. You may pay more up front on the initial purchase but over the years the continued in service time and minimal maintenance required make these units extremely cost effective. If I were to start my own business with 8.5 Kg per cycle washing requirements The MAT Washers and MDE Dryers Maytags are exactly what I would use.

Remember Maytag was purchased by Whirlpool years ago.
All Maytag parts can be obtained through Whirlpool.
I do wish you the best, Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Washers are more advanced and stylish than ever before. When you're buying a washer, look for features that make washing easier and more efficient, less costly, and kinder to fabrics. Thanks to advances in technology, it's all possible - and our washer buying guide shows you how.

Washer Types
Feature options, capacity, energy use and style are all factors to consider when deciding between a front- or top-loading washer.
oth top-loading and front-loading washing machines will do a good job of cleaning your clothes. The most significant differences between these types of washers are capacity, energy efficiency, water use, feature options, and style.

Top-loading machines

Traditional top-loading washing machines are available in a wide assortment of models, price ranges and styles. The most basic top-loading washers perform very well and are generally a good value for a no-frills, clean wash. Other top-loaders offer more cycle and temperature selections, spin speeds, and fabric care extras as they increase in price. Overall, top-loading washers are generally less expensive to purchase than front-loading machines, but are slightly more costly to run because they use more water and electricity.

Most top-loaders fill the tub with enough water to cover the clothing, then agitate them to get the clothing clean. Some manufacturers now offer high-efficiency top-loading washers using a number of different technologies. One such technology is the Whirlpool® Calypso® wash plate. Instead of agitating fabrics to get them clean, the wash plate moves them through a shower of concentrated detergent and water. The action is gentler on fabrics; it's designed to provide better cleaning with far less stress to garment fibers. And with the agitator out of the way, the washer has more room to clean bulky items such as comforters and rugs.

Standard capacity for a top-loading washing machine is 12 to 16 pounds per load. The Calypso wash plate model can hold up to 18 pounds of laundry (think the equivalent of 16 pairs of jeans).

Here is a link to some Whirlpool washers for you to look over.

Which washing machine is better front load or top load?

Front load washing machines are better than top load money wise.

One advantage of a front loading washing machine is an increased capacity. Since there is no central agitator, the horizontally-oriented drum can hold at least 20 to 30% more clothing per load. For a large family, this could mean running only three loads in a front loading washing machine compared to five in a top loader. Fewer loads often translates to savings in utility bills and water usage.

Another advantage of a front loading washing machine is less water and detergent usage. A top loading washer must use enough water to cover the highest level of the clothes. A front loading washing machine, on the other hand, only uses enough water to cover approximately the lower third of the tub at most.

My Top loading washing machine drum has buildup of gunk and then it comes loose when agitating--how can I clean this?

REMOVE FRONT PANEL, THEN TOP PANEL. TAKE OFF THE TOP TUB COVER. IF YOU CAN'T TAKE THE BASKET OUT, THEN YOU CAN TRY YOUR BEST TO CLEAN BETWEEN THE BASKET AND THE TUB.CHECK WHERE THE VACUUM LINE GOES INTO THE TUB, MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAR AND CLEAN, SO THAT YOU WON'T RUN INTO A DIFFERENT PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE. I CAN GUIDE YOU STEP BY STEP IF NEEDED.
