Hello there!

If you've ever found yourself trying to use your SD card only to get this message, "unable to use card". Well you're not alone. Not a problem, there's a solution!

Just follow this easy steps:

1. If your aim is to repair a corrupted SD card so that you can use it to store files then proceed to step # 2. However, if your aim is to recover the files on the SD card without erasing them, proceed to step # 5.

2. Insert the SD card into a digital camera card slot and choose to format your card. If this doesn't work then move on to the next step...

3. Place the SD card into your computer or laptop SD card slot. Right click on the SD card drive letter IF it appears and choose to "format". If this doesn't work, proceed to the next step...

4. You will need to go to the website http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/eula/. Here you will download, install, and run the program to format your SD card. This is the most advanced step of the three that I mentioned, but most likely to work 99% of the time.

5. If you want to recover files on your SD without erasing them, then you need to download and run the software on this site http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/testdisk_download
This is the best free software available for this type of problem.

However, in any case, if you do not have any important files on your SD card, better to purchase a new one.

Regards,
fossildude

Its most likely your Micro SD card thats faulty. If its a Sandisk of Kingston then theres a 12 Month warranty on them but if its one of those cheap no name ones they are a complete joke and will continue to corrupt everything put on them. Invest in a good brand one.

My microsd card had got corrupted

Assuming just the file system is corrupted, you can use your camera's menu to re-format the card or insert into a card reader connected to a PC and re-format (right click on the icon for the card and select format). You will lose any pictures on the card.

Where do i find the micro sd on the nokia 6300

Insert a microSD card
Use only compatible microSD cards approved by Nokia for use with this device. Nokia
uses approved industry standards for memory cards, but some brands may not be fully
compatible with this device. Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device
and corrupt data stored on the card.
e211434.jpg

1. Remove the back cover of the device.
2. Insert the card into the microSD card slot with the contact
surface facing down, and press it until it locks into place.
3. Close the back cover of the device.
Remove the microSD card
Important: Do not remove the memory card in the middle of an operation when
the card is being accessed. Removing the card in the middle of an operation may damage
the memory card as well as the device, and data stored on the card may be corrupted.
You can remove or replace the microSD card during phone operation without switching
the device off.
1. Make sure that no application is currently accessing the microSD memory card.
2. Remove the back cover of the device.
3. Press the microSD card slightly in to release the lock.
4. Remove the microSD card from the slot.
