Whirlpool model LGR4634JQ0 Began not heating today. I've checked the timer and have run thru the different cycles. What would you recommend checking to find exact failure of heating.

Pop off the cover on the bottom left side of the front panel, look inside with the dryer running, does the ignitor glow?if not unplug it,pull out the filter on top, remove the two phillips screws in front of the filter on top panel, get a screw driver and pop up the top panel,on the sides remove the two 5/16 inch screws, unplug the door switch and lift the front panel off.unplug the ignitor and check it with your meter,if it's good check the sensor to the left of it.if it does glow it will be bad gas coils or the gas valve but most of the time it's the coils, also you can tell if the coils are bad is they will work normally until they heat up and then the fail,so you'll have heat for the first 15 to 30 minutes and then nothing.if all checks good you could have a bad timer or motor but usually it's not that.while you have it apart you should clean it out.with a shop vac vac up all the lint in the cabinet, stick the vac on blow and blow all the lint off the motor and blow off all the gas parts, then go in the back, remove the vent line and the back panel,if the vent line is long blow it out with a leaf blower and go outside and make sure the outside duct is clear.then remove the duct that the lint filter slides into and clean that out.if you do this once a year your dryer will last a long time, your clothes will dry on time and you don't have to worry about a dryer fire.if you need any more help let me know,if you let me know what part you found that was bad i can look it up for you and give you the part number and a price.good luck

Whirlpool electric dryer LER5620KQ1. won't heat up timer does not advance

Same problem with my Whirlpool Dryer: Model LER4634EZ2 which stopped heating. I checked the coils that was "OK" then I checked the fuse that was "OK" I replaced the Thermal Fuse and High Limit Thermostat then after starting the dryer the heat came on ... problem solved NO.... the dryer just kept running and running until I opened the dryer door. Not going to put 70 or so $$$ into this 10 year old dryer which up until 12/15/2011 worked fine.

Dryer timer won't shut off at end of cycle. Dryer runs, but no heat. It is a Whirlpool model number LGR4634JQ2.

Since you say that the dryer runs but have no heat, plus the timer won't shut off the odds are the timer is bad. The timer would tell the burner when to be on and when to shut down.

Whirlpool electric dryer model WED5100VQ1 Dryer won't heat and timer dial won't move once it's set on desired dry time. Are these related? Any ideas?

For anyone who may be interested (this post is a little dated). I just diagnosed one of these machines today. Dryer runs with no heat. First thing if you don't have an ohm meter get one and learn how to use it (easy). Check for 220 (240) volts at receptacle then ohm your element then check your thermal cut off( at top of element housing, if these check out good then the timer is the likely culprit ( what I found today). There is a schematic inside the console that shows you what to check.
God bless.

I have a whirlpool model number du810swpq3 dishwasher. It began to emit smoke during the washing cycle. I immediately began to suspect a belt problem but this model does not have a belt. Any suggestions?...

You have to check the water pump.Solenoid valves. Check whether any electrical part getting over heated!

Switch of the machine after a short 5 mins run and check

Element heats, dryer tumbles, no heat in drum, never shuts off

Hi, If the dryer heats but will not advance in either time or auto cycles, you need to change the timer.
You can test to see if the timer is getting voltage. Remove the top rear panel and locate the two wires going to the timer motor. There should be 120V when the dryer is running in time dry.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Thanks

My Whirlpool, LER6620PQ1 dryer will not stop running, nor will it heat at all. What could be the cause? Since both issues began at same time, I would think it is a similar cause.

Try to put the dryer on a timed cycle and see if the timer will advance. If you have the dryer on an automatic cycle and it is not heating it can run for a long long time. If the timer will advance in a time cycle you may just need to check your thermostats and the heater on your dryer. To do this pull the dryer out and unplug it, then take the back off. You will need a voltage meter to continue. Check the voltage at the plug and make sure you have two seperate 110 volt legs and 220 volts across. If the voltage is correct check the heater for continuity and make sure it is not grounded. Then check the thermostat on the top of the heater housing. If all of these parts are good and you have the proper voltage you will need a new timer
timer # 8299778 $74.00 shipped to you.
heater # 279838 $63.00 shipped to you.
thermostat kit # 279816 $40 shipped to you.
Gool luck to you and let me know if you need a part.

Error E1

dear customer,
most of the time the timers of dryers aren't faulty even though the dryer doesn't run properly in timmed mode. dryer timers have small motors on the back. The motor rotates gears and cams that open and close switch contacts that control the loads in your dryer. A load is something that does work like a motor, heater, light bulb or end of the cycle buzzer. When the timer is manufactured the amount of time each set of contacts will be closed is built in by the timer cams and gears.so i recommend yu to check the follwoing
  • Test the moisture sensor
  • Test the thermostats
  • Test the heating element
  • and finally the timer device.
hope you find this useful. thank you.
