Question about Samsung Digimax D53 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Connecting to computer.

I am getting a USB port error stating that my Samsung Digimax D53 is not recognized, to try again or replace the item. Also when I click on the Digimax Master Image and Video Editor, a window pops up stateting it has stopped working correctly. I have Windows Vista. Is this yet again another Vista communication problem, or do I need a a new USB cord for my camera? Thanks!

My samsung digimax d53 will not let me put pictures on the computer with its usb cord

Consider NOT using the USB connection.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

Have you tried a different usb port on your computer?
Do you have winXP? If so , it should see it almost instantly.
Try a different usb port and see if your computer will see it then.

My computer doesn't recognize my new cord for my camera

Try to check if the camera software and driver is properly installed in your computer.

Make sure that your camera is compatible with your computer operating system.

Are you sure you purchased a genuine Samsung USB cord? Because it would be much advisable to use Samsung USB cable.

Try to go to MyAccessoryMall.com and you may purchase the cable there.

I didn't get usb port

Either comes with it, or not. Sounds like a budget model, that has no port, and requires you to take the memory card out and put it into the computer to download.

No disk

If your new computer's operating system is Windows Vista, the driver for the Samsung Digimax D53 is incompatible. If you have W98, then you should just be able to plug and play your camera to your computer or download the driver from www.samsungcamera.com
