Replace the light bulb. This answer is from an expert? Let me try to explain this a little better. The gas flame that ignights the element in the oven that increases the tempature in the oven so you can bake food went out. Where is the location of the "Pilot" or element that I need to relight in the oven? The oven does not need a new light bulb!!

A similar thing happens to me, but after a few minutes, the oven DOES turn on. So there's a gas smell for a few minutes. The ignitor seems to be working when I turn the oven on, but the burner doesn't turn on until after a while. Any suggestions?

Relighting Your Furnace's Pilot Light

The pilot light for the oven went out. - furnace1.jpg - Turn off the gas at the main valve at your utility box - Wait five to ten minutes for gas fumes to waft away - Get a long match—yes, a fireplace match, not a standard match - Set the gas valve on your furnace to "pilot" - Press the red button as you hold the match to the pilot valve - Keep pressing the red button for 30-60 seconds so the pilot can heat the thermocouple. Release the button and see if the pilot remains lit - If pilot goes out, wait five to ten minutes and repeat the process - Once the pilot stays lit, turn the main gas valve back on - If the pilot light continues to go out, call a technician, who may need to adjust or replace your thermocouple or adjust your pilot

You might need to pull up the bottom plate of the oven. Newer ovens, like yours, do not have a standing pilot light, they have electic pilot
starters that light the pilot when the oven oven is turned on.
Sorry about first answer, I did not read correctly, sometimes happen to us.

If the oven does not ignite, you just do not relight the burner with a match on a modern oven. Check if you smell gas. Probably it is just a broken ignitor.
To test the ignitor, the only way is using an Amp Probe .
replacing the ingnitor solve the problem in majority of similar case.

This should be the replacement needed for your range.
Double check part is right for your model by contacting seller at 800-269-2609 (USA toll free number) or email at Contact Repairclinic before buying the part.

How to light my pilot light on a 1970 gas oven?

A faint gas odor near an appliance may indicate that the pilot light has gone out. If the appliance has a pilot light and the odor persists after relighting, exit immediately, leaving doors and windows open as you exit. Do not open windows if they're not already open. Do not use your telephone or cell phone, operate any appliance, light a match or turn light switches on or off. Call your local gas supplier from a neighboring location.

Kenmore Oven- The oven doesnt heat or light at all. If I sent it to 350 degrees; should i still smell gas?

I beleive this model has an electric igniter, You may have to change this they sometimes just wear out, or it's just simply your pilot light is out and you need to relight it, hope this helps.

I have a gas garland convection oven 10-15 years old. I see the red button to relight the pilot light but I can't find the pilot light itself. Can you tell me where I should be looking?

On the main bake burner is going to be a small pilot burner, got to lift off the oven floor to get to it. It is going to look something like this picture and is attached usually to the side of the main burner. To light the pilot, push that red button light the small pilot burner..hold in the red button for about 20 seconds..release the red button..pilot should be on..if goes off the thermocoupler is going to be in need of replacement

Vulcan oven will not stay lit

I would take out the pilot and clean it up and see what happens, also look behind the unit and see if theres a gas regulator on the gas line,if so you will see a nut on it take it off with a pair of pliers and clean as well.that valve is actually the saftey valve, when the pilot lights the flame impinges on the thermocouple and that sends a millivolt back to that valve in order to open.if none of these resolve your problem i would replace the thermocouple first as this is a cheap part and easy to put on.if you need a part # i can give it to you.let me know.
