Question about Whirlpool 24 in. DU1100XTP Built-in Dishwasher

2 Answers

DU1145XTP The buttons don't all work--for a while the normal wash and heated dry were the only functions that worked--now the start button doesn't work. I took the panel off and clicked the door switch and held it and got all the cycle buttons to light up except rinse only and only heated dry in the cycles would light up. The delay buttons don't work and neither does start. Also the panel seems hot.

Are you talking about the control panel that is on the outside of the machine or circuit board that goes inside the door?

  • imdamom7 Jul 28, 2008

    Yes

  • imdamom7 Aug 01, 2008

I ordered and replaced the circuit board per your instructions. Now as soon as you shut the door the dishwasher is all ready on light wash and started and NONE OF THE OTHER BUTTONS WORK; not even cancel.

  • imdamom7 Aug 01, 2008

So, are you saying now i needed to replace both parts??

You need to replace the circuit board inside the machine, technically it is possible for you to do it, how long have you had the machine, if it is under warranty you can have it serviced without any cost or less cost to you contact Whirlpool
http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/index.jsp
You can locate the local authorized whirlpool service center.

OK I am not an expert but I have spent the last two weeks learning about and fixing my dishwasher! Hopefully I can save you a headache. Try the following:

* Flip the switch off and on in your breaker/circuit box. May reset your washer.
* If that doesn't work, try running diagnostic/reset cycles by pressing heated dry -normal- heated dry or heated dry-sanitize-heated dry in sequence. If the cycles run fine, you will rule out a power, latch, motor/drying issue. It also may (hopefully) reset your system.
* If normal function still does not resume, make sure your power (from the breaker box) is turned off and unscrew (with a star-shaped screwdriver bit - check your car emergency kit/toolbox, you may find you have it) and open the front button control panel and check all connections. Try carefully unplugging and replugging wires and look for any corrosion/moisture on the circuit board.
* If that does not work, test the circuit board by unplugging the green ribbon cable from the control panel, reassembling with the ribbon cable unplugged, flipping your circuit back on and then closing the dishwasher door. If the drain motor runs, it will show you that there is still some function with the circuit board. Although it doesn't rule out the circuit board completely, it will point to a most likely control (button) panel issue and try replacing that. If the drain test does NOT run, it may be the circuit board that needs to be replaced.

Hopefully some of that helps!

Hi

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry or High Temp Wash-Heated Dry-High Temp Wash-Heated Dry . Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Blinking "Normal" light on a Maytag model

Hi

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.
