How do I assign a DID number to a phone local and a local trunk group created in program 601?

The Samsung Prostar DCS 40 I don't think was out for very long. The 7100 to 7400 series came shortly after it.

I had created a station group in 601 of a cordless set and a keyset, and wanted to assign a DID number to that group. Program 714 seemes to be the right one, but I don't see how to assign the number to the station group.

Could you repost your question and tell me the type of phone system you have, you say it is a DCS 40 Prostar but I do not recall the 40, only the 408, 612 and 816. also MMC 601 is for station groups and 603 is for trunks. I'll be glad to help if you can clear this up for me. Thanks, .....Mike

You are on the right track, assign the DID Digits under say 005 then assign 005 to ring the station group you set up. so it should look something like this:

    DID DIGIT ( 005 )

    DGT: 1234

    DID DIGIT ( 005 )

    1:5XX 2:5XX

Let me know if this makes sense to you, if not we will try again. Good Luck. .....Mike

Hi I have a Panasonic KX-T7667 Telephone and it rings for intercom calls, but for external line calls it won't ring, I just get the flashing lights for the phone line. I have tried the volume...

Solid lights mean it's not programmed in the ICD group. Depending on the issue of your system cabinet, ICD ring group pilot numbers begin with 600 or 601 and grow to as many as you need. Each phone that rings has to be a member of the group and you can program it to not ring, ring immediately, or a delay of up to 6 rings. In my office system ICD group members are assigned in system program 620.and the ringing is programmed in 621. It's not entirely friendly to change it by hand as the tables are assigned by group and position, but it can be done.

It's an installer function and requires the system password or permission to change it.

How do I program to see my missed calls on this phone

Remember what you asked for. If you have CID service, you pick a spare button and program it for call log. Press PROG the button and dial 54 STORE. (Press PROG to exit) It will light up with the missing calls and display a log of all calls that came into the phone. Your navigator button will step you through the directory.

54 and a group number will display ALL CALLS that came into an ICD group. By default, the main group is usually 600 or 601.

Group code

I believe what you want is at the bottom of this list.

If you frequently send faxes to the same group of telephone numbers, you can assign these numbers to a group.
Only Speed Dial and One Touch numbers can be assigned to a group. A maximum of 25 Group Numbers (WorkCentre Pro555) / 50 Group Numbers (WorkCentre Pro575) can be assigned (in the range 1-1999). Preset group numbers can also be used for polling.
The following information is included below:
  • Create a new group
  • Add numbers to an existing group
  • Delete numbers from an existing group
  • Delete an existing group
To print the Group Phonebook, see the Related Items below for additional information.
Create a new Group:
  1. From the Standby Mode, press the [Menu] (up arrow) button on the Control Panel, then press [3], [3].
  2. Use the numeric keypad to enter the Group Dial number (1-1999) you want to assign to this group.
  3. Press the [Enter] button. The screen will display a name.
  4. Use the numeric keypad to enter the Group Name (20 characters maximum), then press [Enter].
  5. Press the One Touch button you want to include in this Group, or enter the Speed Dial number, then press [Enter].

NOTE: The One Touch and Speed Dial numbers must already be programmed. See the Related Items below.

  6. Repeat step 5 to enter additional numbers.
  7. When you have entered each number you want to include in this group, press [Enter].

NOTE: Group Transmissions are easier if a group is linked to a One Touch button.

  9. Press the [Exit] or [Stop] button to return to the Standby Mode.
To add numbers to an existing Group:

Night Bell/Ring

Hi Lauri, when the incoming caller rings your number the ringing sound you hear is from the intercom ( Call 1 ) button on the phones programmed to ring. If you only want a few phones to ring, like the Station Group programmed in MMC 601 it will require accessing several different MMC's and you can really mess up your ringing assignments and not get any calls at all. I know you do not want to hear this but do you have a Vendor that takes care of your system? This is a problem/request that an experienced Sansumg Tech should tackle. Let me know your city and I can find you a local Tech. .....Mike
