The Wireless Network Connection status window appears. Click the "Wireless Properties" button. Select the "Security" tab and select an encryption type from the drop-down selection. Enter a password in the Network security key field. Make sure that the password matches the router settings. Press "OK" when done. Get a wireless internet router for your Internet connection if there is no wireless Internet already in your area. You can buy these online, or at electronic stores. Try turning off the router for 30 secs, then power it up again.
Then try connecting a LAN cable from the computer to the router and see if you can connect to the Internet.
If you can connect to the Internet then -
With the LAN cable open a browser and type in the configuration URL and check the Wireless settings, then check and/or the wireless card settings (it should have the router's SSID and encryption settings etc.)
Also install the latest wireless card driver.
Then test the wireless and Internet connection. If this doesn't work -
Next connect the computer with a LAN cable to the cable or DSL modem to see if you can connect to the Internet.
If you cannot get an Internet connection with the LAN cable, contact your ISP and get them to test the connection to your modem.
If the modem and Internet is OK and you still cannot get a wireless connection then the problem could be a faulty wireless router.
