Question about NetGear RangeMax WPN824 Wireless Router (WPN824NAR)
Hi. I've had this Netgear router for almost 3 weeks now. When I got it, I installed it and set up my secure wireless network and everything worked fine until a few days ago. Now, everytime I try to connect to my network it tells me the network security key is incorrect. This is the passphrase that I set up or no?? It's not the internet connection because I connect through ethernet directly to laptop. And the laptop connects to other unsecure networks, so it's not the computer. When I try to get on the login site for netgear to check my settings, it locks up "thinking" & times out. ?? Anyway. Can someone help please??? I've tried everything I can think of.
You did mention that it was working fine for several weeks suddenly your wireless computers stopped functioning and your getting a message that the security key in incorrect. This only means that its either your entering the wrong encryption key or someone changed the previous security key to something else. By the way what type of wireless security did you configured on the router initially was it WEP or WPA, if its WEP(64 or 128 bit) and your using a bulit-in wireless adapter on your laptop you need the default WEP key because the passphrase only works with a Netgear WLAN Utility.
Know if your having difficulties accessing the setup page of the router you may need to check on your browser settings, turn off the pop up blocker and firewall temporarily, also try another computer. Now if all fails you may need to press that reset button on your router and set it up again.
