I lost my fsx code and i need a new one what do i do

No. You will need to purchase FSX Steam Edition and receive a new install code for it.

I understand many of the add-ons for FSX will work with FSX Steam Edition, though.

User permissions issue. Go to C:\program files\microsoft\fsx and find the fsx.exe icon. Right-click it, choose properties, and tick the check box for "always run as administrator". This process doesn't always work doing this from the FSX shortcut.

Set all the buttons and controls up in FSX. Go to settings, controls and you will see your stick shown in there. Pick one of the tasks you want, press the button and it will assign that action to that button. Make sure you do this from the opening menu, not from within the game as this does not save it for next time.

When you have them all set, save the configuration file and give it a name you will remember. Forget the manager software. as long as you have the sticks driver installed the above will work

Have you searched the registry using CTRL + F and typing in FSX or Microsoft? This should find all entries. If not, then FSX is not installed properly and you need to uninstall FSX, reboot and re-install. Good luck with it.

You need to go the FSX directory, find FSX.exe, right-click this icon and drag it to the desktop, release the mouse button and choose "create shortcut here" from the fly-out menu. This will create a proper icon for you.

Only way to do this is to contact Microsoft and tell them you lost the code. They may not allow you to have another code as many are using cracked copies. (not suggesting you are). There is an option on the install when you get to the register screen to contact them, then you give them the number that shown on your screen. Good luck!

OK. This is what you need to do.
1. Uninstall FSX completely the reboot.
2. Press CTRL + F and type in the search box "FSX"
3 Each entry that comes up should be deleted from the registry. Press F3 to continue searching. When no more appear, reboot and re-install ensuring that FSX CD's are clean. If you are not confident clearing registry entries, get a reputable registry cleaning program, but use it after you have uninstalled FSX. Good luck

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your key. I found this page on Microsoft's site talking about problems with keys. I know that the header says it's about invalid keys, but if you read it, you'll find the info about lost keys.

According to Microsoft, you need to have your CD in front of you, then go here to contact their technical support. Enter your region, then your product, and follow the directions. The first page I linked to says that you may have to give them the number that is located on the inner circle on the disc. They also state that a fee may apply to obtain a product key.

I know that when I have lost product keys in the past, they also required me to send them a scan of my CD, to prove I have a valid copy. But that may be a thing of the past.

You need to find the directory where it has installed, usually in C:\program files\Microsoft games\FSX and then locate the .exe file. Right-click the mouse over this icon, holding the right button down, drag the icaon onto the desktop, release the mouse button and when teh small menu appears choose "create shortcut here" option.

Then you can start the program using the new icon on your desktop. As for playing it, you need to read the manual as it would take too long here to explain it. Good luck
