Question about Toshiba Satellite A205-S4617 Notebook

1 Answer

Wireless Router I'm about to get a laptop, and I was wondering which router I should get. I have been looking on the Best Buy web site, but I just don't really know what to look for. I don't know if it would be better toget Wireless N or Wireless G. Then which brand is better netgear or liskys? I'm not really worried about the cost. I just want which ever one will be the best for me.

Both Linksys and Netgear arer great products , since wireless N technology is the latest wireless technology right now I will recommend you to get a wireless N router from Linksys you can get this model WRT300N or from Netgear check this model WNDR3300 ..

How do I remove 502 Bad Gateway from my computer

Generally, a 502 error is not something you can fix. It means that one or more of the servers that fulfill your request for a web page aren't sending back what's expected. (It's quite typical for a web site to grab data from other places to render the page you are looking at. The main text usually comes from the site you are looking at, but a lot of the times, the pictures, video, comments section, etc., might be hosted on another machine altogether. The ads placed on web pages typically come from outside servers.)

If this is the only web site on which you are getting a 502 error, it probably is the site. However, I was able to go to http://www.quotev.com/ (using FIrefox 19.0.2 and Chrome Version 25.0.1364.172 m) with no issues, which makes me wonder. If you are getting the error when visiting a lot of sites, it's probably time to do some more digging on your end. Have you tried power cycling the router that serves the Internet at your place? It's possible that the site has moved to a new server and the router has some of the old web site IPs in it's routing table. That is, it might not be your laptop, but in the router or further upstream toward the web site.

Best wireless router options for the inspiron 6000

Not sure what you're asking. If your laptop has a wireless card installed in it, then any wireless router should work. If you're asking what wireless router to buy, do a Google search on top 10 wireless routers.

Hi, we have a toshiba S1800-254 computer and need to make it wireless, so we were wondering what card to use what to do with it and where we can we buy one ?

Seeing as how its an older laptop, your best option would be to get a wireless USB G network adapter, it plugs into a USB port on your laptop, then get a wireless G router to match up with your wireless G Network USB adapter. Stick with Belkin if you can since they have been reliable from my own experience. Get a Belkin Wireless G Router and a Belkin wireless G USB Network Adapter. At that point you'll have wireless access and it will run you under $100 dollars.

What is the best wireless router for a Dell Inspiron laptop E1705

Some wireless routers are better than others simply by design. Making sure you have the proper functionality is the main concern. Make sure your router supports the same format in wireless that your computer does. If the computer supports Wireless B then you must make sure your router does as well. Most Best Buy and or Walmart stores carry several models which will support Wireless B/G as well as some type of security.

I have a netbook and no cd rom drive. what wireless router brand do i need to use?

technically you need no drive or software on you computer for this unless this is the computer you wish to manage the router with. you see you can still buy a new router and cable directly into it go to a web browser and type in 192.168.254.254 and this is generally the default html or web interface for the router. All changes you can make with software can be done from here as well. I would think you could buy any and just use the web interface instead of the software interface. That is what I do I toss all the software and use that interface when securing a client network or setting up a router for a client. Hope that helps you out.. Oh yes default username and password for most linksys routers will be admin / admin some are different but that info will be contained withing the literature that comes with it.

Dell laptop with wireless card unable to connect to network

well im assuming you were at the routers general settings page for wireless settings and saw the wep key you entered, wep is advised for this method of connection, what is happening is that the router is braocasting a predeterminined key to acept authentication from the client laptop. if you look in your routers settings on the web page enabled site youll see that their is a key code with numbers and letters this is called hex key, it is used to login to your router. theirs a few possabiltities here 64 bit and 128 but 128 is advised, then simply write that key down and connecto to router when prom, pted enter that key you just saw and you will be able to select 128 bit or by defult it may have 128 selected. good luck, to get to the router try http://192.168.1.1 good luck with the router.login information should be in your manual that came with the router but most as generic like username admin password password

Setting up internet

NO laptop has WIRELESS MODEM or ROUTER.

But yeah, there is always a WIRELESS LAN card in each laptop so that you can get connected to any Wireless Access Point like Routers,Bridges or Switches.

Your OS wizard will help you to configure all wireless settings.

If all you're looking for is wireless internet within your home, then you can simply buy a wireless router off the shelf from Best Buy. However, a wireless router will only provide a range of a couple hundred feet, perhaps a couple of hundred yards. Essentially, it only provides internet access at a single fixed location. I'm getting the impression you're looking for something more.

If you're looking to have internet access wherever you go, no matter how far from home, you're going to need a subscription to wireless internet from a cellular provider such as AT&T or Sprint. They sell both internet access as well as the cards used to connect to the network, so check out their websites to explore your options.
