It all depends on what file type your camcorder save video's in and what file types are compatible with your DVD player.

Many camcorders save files on a card as MPEG4, you have to check what yours does.

Its ok to write to a DVD but you have to make sure your DVD player can play MPEG4. If not then convert your files or save your files in a format your DVD player can recognise ie MPEG1 or AVI.

Finally, once you've copied videos in a format your dvd plays, make sure you "Finalize" the disk.
This means that you can't copy any more data, but it makes the disk readable on other players.

JVC Everio GZ-HD3 Flash Media Camcorder

If you plug in the USB cable from the camera to a Windows XP machine, the Everio disk looks like a USB disk drive, and I can copy the files over using Windows Explorer. In order to convert them to MPG files, we are using Cyberlink PowerDirector5 NE Express, since the camera produces TOD files, which need to be converted to MPG. We are using MAGIX as the video editor after the conversion from TOD to MPG.

Download on JVC MG130U

Try saving the files from your camcorder to your PC.
This way you can convert them and use them as you wish.
Burn them to DVD using a NERO package.
If they are of an unsupported format (DiVX), use a relevant programme to convert them up to DVD 'ConvertXtoDVD' is a pretty good, freely available programme on file share sites.
I used it for my Digicam videos.
Hope this helps

Free driver for gz-hd3u jvc camcorder

Hello
I've set that problem :
1/ Intall the JVC driver
2/ Import (not Capture) from JVC camera to G5 via the USB cable, you will have ".TOD" clips
3/ Convert ".TOD" to "Quick Time" with "Streamclip" software (free)
And you can edit with FCP
