How to burn a dvd from an acer laptop

The laptop should have come with CD/DVD burning software preloaded. Acer's specs page for your model says it comes with NTI Media Maker. The program will have help information available to guide you through, and you can find more help online. If you just want to write data files onto a DVD, the process typically is not much more than dragging files to a layout window and telling the program to burn the disc. This gives you a way to back up data, or to store movies in formats you can view on a computer (AVI, MPG, etc.).

On the other hand, if you're asking how to make a video DVD that will play in a regular DVD player like a commercial movie, maybe with features like menus or scene selection and such, the process for making that kind of DVD is more involved. You need some DVD authoring software. NTI may offer that capability, but I'll admit I have never looked.

In most cases, the software that comes preloaded on computers is a limited version of some commercial product. The computer manufacturers get paid to include the program, and the software company hopes you'll buy the full version when you discover the limitations. If you don't want to pay for software, there are free, more full-featured programs available for downloading.

For general CD and DVD burning, I use CDBurnerXP. To make video DVDs, I use a program called DVDStyler. Both are open-source, meaning they are 100% free to download and use, and they both offer a lot of features.

How burn common video to DVD with menu?

Putting any old video file - like the AVI, MP4, WMV etc. videos you've downloaded with BitTorrent - onto a DVD to play on your TV can be a daunting task. There's plenty of software that tackles this sort of thing but have no idea is better or the best. here i would introduce a easy to use DVD creator that can burn almost any video to DVD directly. I take burn mp4 to DVD as an example, you will get the idea of converting other video format to DVD.

Getting ready Make sure you have blank DVD disk (DVD +R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW) and rewritable DVD-ROM and downloaded Daniusoft DVD Creator Go to install and running it. The interface is as simple as Window Movie Make.
Free Download Daniusoft DVD Creator

Step 1. Importing MP4 video as source files
Click "Import" to load MP4 files from computer, or you could simple drag the files into the application (Multiple MP4 video files can be added at a time). If the MP4 files have been added successfully it will appear as thumbnail view on the left sidebar.

dvd-creator-screen-shot.jpg Step 2. DVD menu making Click "Menu Template" to customize your DVD menu. There are different styles of built-in templates, frames and buttons for your choice. To apply a template, frame or button, you can just double click it. You can even add text, background music and background image to customize the menu.

Previewing MP4 video
Just for make sure everything goes as your plan you could have a video preview before burning it to DVD.
Step 3. Convert MP4 to DVD disc Once you have previewed your video and nothing wrong, now you can convert to DVD disk. Go to set TV Standard (PAL/NTSC) on "Setting" option and output Aspect Ratio (4:3/16:9) on "DVD setting bar". Click "Burn" and then select your DVD drive (if you have more than one DVD drive on PC)

Now that you've got everything set up how you want, click the button labeled Burn. it will now start transcoding the video files and authoring the DVD.

burn-video-to-dvd.jpg Tips: The volume of DVD use is shown on the bottom side. You can select DVD type of "D5" or "D9". If the video size is exceed the DVD capability you can reduce it by setting output quality. E.g. select "high quality" instead of "Best performance".

That it, with Daniusoft DVD creator, you can convert MP4 to DVD and even make your own DVD menu in 3 steps. It's easier and faster than other ways of converting MP4 files to DVD. And the software also can burn other common Video files such as WMV to DVD , MOV to DVD and is fully compatible with Windows 7.

Check the checkbox labeled Shutdown when completed and you can leave DVD Flick to do its business overnight and shutdown your computer when it's finished. When you get up the next morning, you'll be the parent of a newly authored DVD!

My dvd burner dont burn every time i tried it says error i have a 2 year extended service protection

dvd burners require alot of space and memory while doing so. try this download the Imageburn software. then instead of choosing burn to disc, select burn to file. this will create a (NTSC) file folder, will have a audio and a video file in it. open image burn and choose >(create image from files and folders) seen in picture below
audioaholic_0.jpg load the folder you created earlier into this, and make whats called a disc image. once you do this then re-open the image burn and click on (write image to disc) and same as before load the disc image into the window, click burn and there should be a succesful burn!!!

this is a long way to acomplish the same result as burning straight to disc, but this way is less stressful on the system, and almost guarrantees a succesful burn every time!!

Im trying to figure out how to burn a dvd dont know how to do it

Before you decide to burn a DVD, it is important to know what kind of DVD you would like to burn. The type of DVD will usually determine the process you use to go about burning. The three most common types of DVDs to burn are Data DVD's, Multimedia Files to a DVD and making a copy and burning a commercial DVD. The burning process will be determined by the type of data you want to burn. You could do three possible actions:
  1. Burn Data to a DVD
  2. Burn Multimedia Files to a DVD
  3. Copy and Burn a Commercial DVD

Burning Data to a DVD Ordinary data such as documents, spreadsheets, database files and backup files require only general DVD burning programs. The data that you burn can be viewed on any type of computer with a DVD drive. Popular DVD burning software programs include Nero 9 and Super DVD Creator 9.8.8.
You will need to purchase or download any of the DVD burning software titles that are available on the market. For some computers that are purchased new, DVD burning software already comes installed and configured for your machine and DVD burner. You just need to open up your DVD burner software, choose to burn a data DVD and follow the instructions. You can usually burn a full length DVD (about 4.7 GB of data) in less than 20 minutes and even quicker with high speed DVD burners.

Burning Multimedia Files to a DVD
Multimedia files are usually larger files that include video either recorded from a TV set, camcorder or digital camera or downloaded from the internet. You may also want to convert an old VHS tape to a more user friendly DVD.

Copying and Burning a Commercial DVD
Many people use their DVD burner to burn copies of commercial DVDs. In most parts of the world, it is illegal to copy a commercial DVD and sell or distribute it. However, you may want to make a copy for archiving purposes.
There are many tools that can copy a commercial DVD. However, apart from the normal DVD burner and DVD burning software, you will also need special software that can decode or crack the digital rights management. It is also important to note that besides cracking the code and copying the data of the commercial DVD, you may need to shrink the file.
Most commercial DVDs are dual layer and have between 7 and 8.4 GB of data. These files must be compressed to fit on a normal 4.7 GB DVD. Once you have cracked the commercial DVD and compressed it, you can use ordinary DVD burning software to burn your DVD.

When you say you cannot burn DVD's, do you mean you cannot burn DVD movies or do you mean you cannot burn data files to a DVD?

Burning DVD movies requires specific software to transcode the video and create a directory structure that DVD's players expect.

When you try to burn DVD's does it produce an error? What software are you using to burn?
