SGH D840 Screen Blank out and No Sound

Hi,

My Samsung SGH D840 is suddenly going dead on me.

Currently, I just have a blank (white) screen no displays although displays momentarily come on and go off.

For about a week now, it does not ring or vibrate.

How can I fix this.

I have removed battery and allowed the phone to stay without battery for more the 3 hours and also reset the phone to factory settings. Yet, the problem still persists

  • Obi_one Jul 29, 2008

Based on the last suggestion, I have opened, cleaned and dried the phone; the screen still goes blank and comes on and more off than on.

I keep thinking that this can be software related, any suggestions out there.

    Thanks

Either go to your cell provider's local store. Or you can also contact samsung for service http://www.samsung.com/us/support/repaironline/supportOnlineServiceRequest.do
That is you best option.
Thanks,

It's better you know how to open your cellphone, and clean the board with an alcohol and dry it with the use of a hair dryer, and if you do this thing then your cellphone will be okey, try this option..

hope this may help;

Display problem

If formatting your phone doesnt help there are three possible problems in order of priority (1) your screen is gone and needs replaced (2) your ribbon cable is gone and needs replaced (3) phone needs flashed, I have repaired the first two above on many samsungs with this fault! Not an easy job! Hope this helps.

Well I hate to inform you but there is no solution to this problem. Basically what you have now is a light up paperweight. The internal components have suffered damage. Electricity can make it go go or kill it.

Blank white screen

The problem with this handset is its data cable which connect your mobile screen to your mobile mother board. When you slide up and down, the data cable get destroyed and your screen display and sound problem get started and after some time when data cable get cuts it stop passing th current from *********** board to screen so this happen. To get resolve you need to change that data cable from service centre. But I would suggest you to go for other mobile because this is the main problem with this model of samsung . I would suggest you plz not waste your money in this handset "because of the same problem company has stopped the pruction of this handset".
