I'll take a different approach to this.
How important are the photos that were on that card?
If they are not that important, I would leave the card where it is, memory cards are fairly inexpensive to replace.

If it is something you must have, the link that was posted above does have the information for disassembling the printer.
The next choice after that would be to take it to a shop to have them disassemble and reassemble the unit. Be aware that the shop cost could be the same as replacing the printer.

The way products like this are made, you very well may have to spend an hour or 2 taking it apart and reassembling it.

I have taken many printers apart, and for the most part, it is a lot of nut and bolt work (take the screws out, and take the many layers apart)

Go to a repair shop, if you do it yourself you risk to waste the camera.

Use a tape, maybe scotch tape or electrical tape to pull the card out. Maybe you can use forceps to pull the card out. At least I was able to do it when I had the same problem.

Hello Jimphly,

First try some easy solution.

Have you tried to turn upside down or side ways the printer?

That way if the card is not stuck it will come outside by the force of gravity.

Good luck and let me know if that didnt help,
Dahaka

Have you tried placing a vacuum cleaner nozzle over the opening where the card has fallen into. Empty the machine BEFORE you try this, and if you have some available, place a ladies tights over the nozzle to catch the card before it goes into the vacuum bad. If not, use a new bag and let the card go into it.

The only to do it, is to remove the side panel , and depending on the model number, you may have to remove the top also to gain access to the fixing screws.

Thanks.

The camera keeps saying there's no memory left-- but there are only 17 photos on the card and it's 2G.

it may be possible you have other data on the card or the card is defective. Reformat the card (after safely moving the 17 photo's you do have to a computer!)this may do the trick.
I'm not making assumptions but, Always buy memory from reputable suppliers as their is a surprisingly large market for counterfeit inferior memory cards at too good to be true prices; especially on that famous auction site! I fallen for it before, and had the same problem you describe. This is by no means the definite cause of your situation; Genuine cards can of course sometimes go wrong too.

My camera is saying that the ''internal memory is full'' -- it's a new card and only has 7-8 pictures on it! what's wrong?

Sounds like you have very large format photos on the memory card and it has reached the capacity of the card. Try setting the camera to a lower resolution if you need more photos in storage or get a larger capacity card. I use an 8GM card and have room for hundreds of photos at typical resolution.

What size memory card are you using? I have had this problem trying to use a a 4gb card, which apparently is not compatible with the Z5. Using a 2gb card seems to alleviate the problem.

Dropped photocard inside of port and cannot retrieve it. seems to have fallen into a lower port.

Dismantle the cases of the printer to retrieve the card. I could tell you how to do it or or where to get a manual to show you how to do it... but you have not told us any info about your printer... so I can't help further.

Not able to shoot photos

OK, I have this camera and it started doing this to me about a week ago.  I assumed it had reached the end of it's life after many, many excellent photos.  As a last resort when the lens popped out after first switch on (when it's doing the clicking business) I grabbed the lens and wiggled it gently back and forth (as if zooming a conventional SLR).  It appears to have been fixed, remarkably!  I switched off and switched it back on and all seems OK.  (I'm not holding my breath and will probably keep looking for a new one but for the moment it's sorted out.)

Downloading from pc to digital photo frame

Solution:

1. I don't think the USB Cable was given to Download Photos from the computer - I think it was given to upload photos to the Computer.

2. The manufacturer has either gave you the wrong cable for a different type of Operating system or you are trying to put it in the wrong port.

Suggestion:

1. Call a Technical Support Line (Probably found on back of instruction booklet.)

or

2. Send the Product back to the company.

Radio Shack has cables of all sorts if you've lost on but it sounds like you just need a map and some magnification.
