I have a Foxconn sound card on my Gateway PC. I am not getting any sound at all from my computer. I believe that I may have lost my drivers somehow. How can I resolve this problem?
colliewob, Thank-you for responding. I tried doing as you suggested, but I just can't understand what you mean by-"any with yellow mark on them" Please explain the steps more clearly. Thank-you.

Control panel device drivers any with yellow mark on them click small + sign will open to driver right click/properties update driver will go on net to update
if you go to control panel find the system icon right click this icon and open it then go to device drivers it will show a list of drivers on your computer one or more should have yellow exclamation mark on them click small + sign will extend menu right click on it go to properties and when the page pops up go to upgrade drivers sorry about first instructions sometimes what you do automatically you forget when giving instructions

One of two possibilities; the Motherboard or power supply. In my case it was the Motherboard. Those cheap capacitors tend to go bad over time without being used. I purchased a replacement motherboard(Foxconn RS 780 "bengal") from a place in WI. Skyline on Ebay. I would do a search on Ebay for Gateway Foxconn Bengal RS780 Motherboard. Then get the number and call. You can use the old processor, ram, and maybe the graphics card, but I'd run the onboard graphics first(if you do happen to have replaced the motherboard) to make sure the graphics card isn't causing an issue. You will need to do some research and reading on the net about installing new motherboards and hardware. If the motherboard is the same, Windows should still work with it. Do your homework first as this is only a suggestion as to your problem. It is what happened to my Gateway DX4300-03. Check all power supply related, graphics card and wire connections first before you consider the motherboard thing.
this program should help you download it is free from here http://www.radarsync.com/ ,instal it and scan then update you sound card driver and you're done.
signup at www.driverguide or www.driverstock.com, after you signup type the brand and model of your souncard, if it is located there, then you can download your sound card driver by using those websites
Copy paste the above into address bar this will take you to a site for foxxcon drivers you will have to enter your computer details yourself as I do not have them
Stop searching by the actual soundcard usually fox conn is directly attacthed to your motherboard search for your motherboards model number for the drivers
