SOURCE: Samsung R65 HDD not detected in bios

Chances are that your HDD is on it's way out the door; even if you get it to come up on another computers via USB adapter. There could be issues with your motherboard, but a faulty HDD is more likely. The only way to be sure is to put another HDD into your computer to see if it shows up or not. If it shows up, then that pretty much affirms that your current HDD is going bad. See MADHATTER COMPUTERS.

Can I boot my e-machine M6810 from a usb cdrom drive? My build in cdrom fell apart and my usb cdrom works when the computer is on, but I can't seem to boot from the new cdrom I have tried changing the...

in short - yes! any e-machine, or indeed any computer build in last 5 years can be boot-up from usb port.

you need to enter bios and setu-up as first boot-up device "other", "boot from another devices", i do not remember which one is actually in this particular bios

plug in your external usb cd-rom, or indeed bootable usb-memory or bootable hdd and they should boot and work as they are on the computer.

another issue, internal cd-rom cannot be really disabled as only mechanical, external part stop working, it' logic part is still there and cmoputer therefore "see" it. you can disable it by downloading newest bios which have bit more power and tweaks than old one.

Hello khulsey60,

The above message is mainly informational and doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. The acronym 'PXE' stands for Preboot Execution Environment. It's an environment to bootstrap computers using a network interface card. Usually the reboot is done by a remote computer on a LAN (Local rea Network). The Realtek NIC (Network Interface Card) somehow expected a PXE boot to be taking place when the computer was restarting. One solution is to restart the computer and go to the boot menu (F2 on some systems) and choose to boot from the master drive.

*Here's a link to a good article explaining what PXE is: http://www.search.com/reference/Preboot_Execution_Environment

If this solution is helpful please click 'YES' by 'Was this helpful?' below.

Have a great day,

I recommend that you formatt your HDD to a FAT32 system probably by using another pc then you should also ensure that your bios is setup for the appropriate operating system. maybe just download the appropriate bios files off the gigabyte web site.
