This fix applies to paper jams the device believes are in the rear duplexer and often .... just fine, but still the printer wouldn't print and the display shows paper jam. ... withno problem but now with this paper jam problem I can't discard anything. ... I have apaper jam message on my hp printer too - it's an old printer that had a ...
you need to remove the jammed paper, you may need to take the printer apart as much as possible to get it all out, the manual generally has instructions on clearing a jam do you have the manual do you need it?
The most common cause for this is a jammed paper sensor flag under the top cover of the ADF where the paper is fed. ( small black plastic protrusion )that should should be positioned at the front of its little slot. I think there are 2 sensors so check that they are functioning properly ( that they move from right to left & then spring back )
could be the same one I had with my printer. Try to turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, disconnect it from the computer, hold down the power button for about 5 to 10 seconds. Then remove the panel at the back and make sure no traces or pieces of paper stuck in any of the rollers. After that about a minute, place the panel back, reconnect the power cord and the USB cable, turn it on, then open the ink cartridge panel/window, then after the cartridges were aligned, close the panel again, then try to print. feel free to rate how it how it goes for you.
At the printer:
1. Remove any paper from the input tray
2. Put a few sheets of 4x6 (10 or so) in the same tray
3. Adjust the paper holder bar so that the 4x6 paper stays straight in place. The holder bar was holding the 8x11 paper in place.
On the computer:
Open a picture
Seect [File] [Print]
Select the photo printer from the list
Cick on [Preferences]
See the paper type? select photo paper
See the paper size? Select 4x6
I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavypaper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the printbutton applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so itwill feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases Ihave been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited thereover time. Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers thisway, saving costly repairs. Hope this helps.Bud
