laptop will not power on. With AC connected and battery installed power light comes on for seconds only. When the battery is removed and only AC there is nothing. Remove AC and re-install battery the laptop ( Toshiba m55-s325) powers comes on for seconds only. Seems like the AC power source. Only thought are if that was the issue that the laptop would at least boot with a warninn that the battery is low.

Toshiba M55-S325 will not power on. Press the power button and it lights for seconds and shuts off (this is with both AC and battery installed).

Remove battery and use only AC....nothing at all.

Re-install battery and remove AC the power comes on for seconds only.

Seems as it would be somewhere in the AC source......power adapter?

You may have a prblem with the laptop itself.
the plug holder where the plug goes maybe worn out, or there maybe something stuck in there that you may have not noticed.

if you find that there is nothing stuck in there, than try taking it to a technician and he will recify the problem.

How do i remove the cover on my acer 2420 laptop to replace the cmos battery? Some one please help

You have to probably remove all the screws under the computer. remove the hdd memory and etc. The next part will be to check near the keyboard if there is something to pull out, underneath that there will be more screws to pull out and you will the cmos battery.

if your computer is the aaccer travelmate 2420 you can also check this website http://www.wiquestions.com/questions/les-instructions-de-demontage-pour-un-acer-travelmate-2420/
it's in french but just translated with google

Microphone connect have acer aspire travelmate

It appears that your Acer has 3 ports in the front center bottomportion of the laptop. One of them should be for plugging in an external microphone, one should be for external speakers, and one should be an input jack.http://complap.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/images/acer-travelmate-2420-2.192120139_std.jpg
