Question about Computers & Internet

Excessive repair time

How do I find out why the repair on my CPU is taking so long? It was dropped off in the store in Lexington on July 5th to have the power supply & mother board replaced. As of today, (July 28th), it is in the Repair Center but is NOT being worked on. The employees at the Lexington store have made no effort to call the Repair Center to check on it, though I've made requests for them to do so.

I would appreciate any help.

I finally got to speak to a manager today and was told that my computer sat in the store for a week because they did not have a box to ship my computer in. Unbelievable, but true.

Phone up the store in lexington and ask to speak to the manager, if the manager isnt available ask what day will he be in. once you speak to the manager explain how long the cpu has taken to be repaired and ask for either him to contact the repair center himself, or for a direct number to the place so you can discuss the matter at hand

hope this helped :) rate me

Why is my monitor dont show any display when connected to cpu? What just noticed is that, power light blinks as if in sleep mode

Because your cpu or other component in there has died and will have to be replaced.
Time to take the cpu (not the monitor) to a pc repair shop.

Hai, I have purchase one hard disk320gb , online on month of july-2010. that time it worked only two or thre times....currently it couldnot work. when i plug it show the lite...but it couldnot...

Please check if all the cables are plugged in properly and also make sure that when you press the power button the cpu fan is running or not, if the cpu fan is running please check if you are getting any kind of display or logo of the manufacturer. If the fan is not running please check the power cable and the wall outlet, if the wall outlet is ok then the cpu fan has gone bad.
If the cpu fan is running then try reseating the memory( ram ) or changing the slots of the memory( ram ). If you need further assistance and you are technically savvy to some extent i can let you know how to troubleshoot the power supply damage and other related issues.

Hope it helps
Thanks and Regards

Pc keeps shutting dowen

You might want to check on the heat protection for your machine's CPU. This sounds like the CPU gets to a heat level that triggers internal protection from damage by excessive heat.

Dell dimension 5150. wont start

Most times when you have flashing yellow light there is issue ether with cpu or motherboard. Just to be safe test the power supply and if ok then try to replace cpu and go from there. If power supply issue just replace it. Might be easier to take it to pc repair store. Good Luck

PC turns on and off many times on its own. Can not keep it on long enough to use the recovery disks

Hello there,

Initially this problem can be an "overheat"on the PC. The CPU has encountered excessive heat and that's why the unit always restart. This is very common on PC problem like yours.

Better to clean the unit for any dust and dirt inside. You may use a compressed air to clean out the cpu. Also make sure that you have remove the dirt on the CPU fan heat sink, and that's why it will not give a proper air cooling inside the processor.

Let me know here again for further instructions.

To remove motherboard from laptop e-system ei3102

To remove the motherboard you need to remove power from the back, lay the computer on it's side, wear an anti-ESD wrist strap, remove the left side cover (looking from back of computer). Mark and record all connections (a video helps while you disassemble). Pull all connectors off by grabbing connector NOT wires. Some have locks. Remove all adapter cards (little circuit boards plugged in motherboard). Remove RAM by pushing on locks on each end. Remove the CPU fan and heat sink but PULL UPP CAREFULLY in case CPU stays attached. If cpu is still in socket, carefully lift locking lever and lift cpu straight up. Remove all screws. Board will need to slide forward slightly to get out of case. Take old board to store to make of proper replacement and take cpu also. Both should be in anti-static bags but DO NOT use ziplock bags. Install in reverse BUT cpu should fall into socket WITHOUT pushing, it has one corner of pins different from others. Make sure that you have wrist ******** at all times working inside the tower. Respond for further details if needed.
Good luck!

3 year old laptop computer with motherboard fan failure; can this be repaired?

the fan can be replaced, but it should be done by a tech as it requires experience in opening the case and installing the fan properly. don't try it yourself. the damage you can cause may be worse than the cost of a tech.
