Hey susanfiscus,
You should have it looked at by an authorized service technician. You could contact the manufacturer and they should have a list of authorized service technicians in your area, and if they don't they would then most likely be able to provide you with an address to mail your camera into an authorized service center. You could also bring the camera into a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they should be able to send it out to an authorized service center. As far as how much it would cost depends on both what is wrong with the camera which can't be known until it is looked at by a technician. I will also say if the camera is less than a year old the repair could be covered under manufacturers warranty and no cost to you. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

THAT MAY BE COINCIDENCE. I HAD MINE QUITTING WHILE I WAS GETTING INTO POSITION TO SHOOT A PICTURE. I DIDN'T BOTHER WITH REPAIR AND BOUGHT AN OLYMPUS VR-320. MUCH SIMPLER AND QUICKER TO SHOOT.

I have a Nikon 40x and whenever I zoom in to take a picture, the picture is blurry. However, when the camera is zoomed out all the way the picture is clear. How can I fix this? Or is there something wrong...

Probably because at the longer end of the zoom range you are getting camera shake. On the wide angle setting shake will not be nearly so noticeable. Use a tripod for long telephoto shots or practise squeezing the shutter release really gently-like the trigger on a gun ;-)

Blurry zoomed in pictures

if you take pictures on digital zoom, the picture quality may not be acceptable. Try don’t use digital zoom.
digital zoom is not really zoom, it just enlarge a portion of the image, thus 'simulating' optical zoom. That is why you lose image quality on digital zoom.

Remove your batteries and look inside the battery compartment. Notice that there should be three small phillips screws at the bottom of the compartment. Tighten up all of these screws.
