Question about Kitchen Ranges

Jenn air 88370

On my jenn air 88370 range I have a setting on the dial called Accel Clean. There is no manual with this range as it was in the house when I purchased it. Do I have a self cleaning oven or do I have a continuous cleaning oven or what. Can someone help me or tell me where I can get a manual for this range. I tried Jenn Air but they say it is too old (pre 1980) and they don't have the info in their system anymore. Appreciate any help you can give me. LindaR

I have the same problem. The unit is a Jen-air convection oven 88370 model purchased in 1980 according to the documents that were left in the house when we moved in in 1995. I do not know how to clean the oven. No instructions and can not find anything online.

I have a similar Jenn Air oven approximate date 1982. It has a catalytic liner (colored a kind of dark charcoal  with paler flecks), so it is a continuous clean oven during normal cooking.  However, it also has the Accel Clean setting on the control knob. This increases the oven temperature to maximum and also runs the convection fan to burn off cooking residues. This allows the catalytic lining work at high efficiency, and burn off stubborn residues that are not removed at normal cooking temperature. The oven may emit smoke through the top door vents as the food residues burn off, so watch that you do not set off your smoke detector. I switch on the cooker hood fan and also put a fan in the kitchen window (blowing air out of the kitchen), to avoid setting off my kitchen smoke detector if I use Accel Clean.

Jenn Air Range Model 88370 oven only bakes in the back and leaves food raw in the front.

It will be the oven element that has failed, a new one wiil need to be fitted.

It is located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

I hope this helps.

Accel Cleaning Setting

It's 'sort of' self cleaning. I just got done figuring it out. If your clock still works, you're supposed to set it for one hour of cooking. Turn the Selector to Accel Clean and the thermostat to 550. The oven fan should come on and the elements should heat. The door doesn't have a lock, which must explain why it only 'cleans' at 550°F.

Jenn air s136 stove won,t self clean

You've probably already read pages 34 through 37 of the owners manual for this oven. We had this stove in the house we bought and the owner wrote in his own directions, which seem to work fine:

1. Turn knob selector to clean.
2. Turn temp knob to clean.
3. Close and lock door.
4. Push enter button and turn dial clockwise to desired time.
5. Push enter button again.

You've probably already tried this, but just in case I figured I'd pass it along.
