Recommend me branded USB drives ?

Honestly, any USB brand will cut it for you. What you want to ensure is that you are purchasing the proper version (1.0, 2.0, or 3.0) for whatever device the key will be associated with. Also make sure you don't buy too little or too much memory. But if you know all this and you just want a reliable brand, I would go with SanDisk.

I need firmware for Western Digital WD Caviar Blue WD3200AAJS - hard drive - 320 GB - SATA-300 SATA

If you are troubleshooting a system or OS problem, you should not consider firmware updates until after exploring more typical troubleshooting steps like file system error checking and anti-virus scanning.

try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule the task on restart then defragment your hard drive

When trying to back up files on Mac G4, I encountered a disk reading error. went to initalize, then to verify. error says Verify and Repair disk “disk2s1” ** /dev/disk2s1 Invalid BS_jmpBoot in boot block:...

You don't say what Mac OS version you're running or many other details, but try running Disk Utility or Disk First Aid, normally in the Utilities folder, and see if it can repair anything.

It sounds like the drive is failing or has already failed.

PS: That Mac G4 is well past its prime. :-(

MacBookpPro osx10.4.11 doesn't recognize new WD passport

the problem is that your western digital operates using the NTFS (New Technology File System) which is the standard file system of Windows. Apple macs is not interopable with native NTFS therefore you need to install a read-write NTFS file-system driver on your mac.

an excellent free mac NTFS driver can be found here-

I purchased this product the 160 gb external harddrive for western digital for 60.00 on sale.. and the company told me my 1 year warranty was expired after i only had the product for 2 months.. and then...

trial versions are free for 1 month
you bought the unit at a sale so if the trial version was installed , the free period is well over so you have to pay or uninstall
next point warranty is from day of sale . not day of manufacture so discuss that with the shop because for them to deny warranty full period means that it is not new but second hand and all you got was the remainder of the warranty period
In other words , you have been had
you can get brand new 1T hard drives for less than $90.00

I have a western digital external hard drive and im using the getbackdata software to try and recover about a 160gb of data. eventually the blue light goes out on the hard drive and software...

Your hard drive might be failing. Or it is possible that GetBackData might have a bug. Have you tried the latest version of the software? Try a different software to see if that helps. There are even some freeware data recovery softward utilities out there. Google for them.

I have a emachines and i want to install a new hard

windows 98 uses the FAT 32 file system and will only read up to 127GB. You could format the drive and divide it into smaller sections and windows should be able to read it fine. Either 2 sections of 80GB each, or multiple smaller sections.
-Download and use the updated FDISK.EXE utility program from Microsoft.
-Keep your partiton size for the Primary partiton that is to be used for drive C: to 127GB or less.
-Use the Windows 98 FORMAT.COM utility program. Note that while the prgram is running it will display an incorrect size for your partition. After it has finished, the summary screen will show the correct size that was formatted.
Formatting large hard drives is extremely slow. If you have a disk setup utility that came with your new hard drive, use it instead of FORMAT.COM. This can save you HOURS of waiting.
